This research works with a case-study design. That is one limitation of this research. The conclusions with regard to the role of the police in this particular problem in The Hague cannot be generalized to other problems where the police have to deal with. This research only says something about the connection between community policing and radicalization. Another possible limitation is that this research only focuses on the neighbourhoods of Transvaal and the Schilderswijk. It is possible that other neighbourhoods in The Hague show another image of the situation. A third limitation is that this research focuses on the period after 2014. The program of the municipality of The Hague with regard to the prevention of the problem of radicalization is constructed for the period 2015-2019. At the time this thesis is finished it is 2018. It would be ideal if the thesis could entail of an evaluation of this policy after 2019. That the program is still on-going can also be seen as a limitation. A last limitation of this research is that the interviews are only conducted with NP’s or people with a higher function at the same bureau. It would be ideal if a policymaker of a higher rank cooperated with this research. The choices behind a certain policy could then be better explained in this thesis.

A concrete recommendation for future researchers is to critically investigate other problems that can be possibly prevented through a community policing philosophy. If more data is collected with regard to the community policing philosophy, people are better able to know the implications of this philosophy in practice.
