“Checking”.
After a successful function test, “Okay” is displayed and the indicator lamp next to “On”
lights up green.
The device is ready for operation and prompts you to insert the Tube Package by indicating
“Insert Tubing”.
Remove the protective pouch from the Spray Head.
Place the Spray Head on the implant so that the Implant Connector is inserted into the interior of the implant.
Press the Spray Head into the implant from above throughout the cleaning process.
Placing the Spray Head with integrated Implant Connector and
Sponge on the implant
Do not use a contaminated Spray Head.
Make sure that the Tube Package can move freely between the Control Unit and the patient and cannot get caught or blocked by other objects.
Once the Tube Package has been completely assembled as described above – spike inserted into the bottle, plug connected to device, tube inserted into pump, pump cover closed and Spray Head placed on implant to be cleaned – then confirm this on the Control Unit with the CONFIRM button.
“Ready - Press Start” appears.
Make sure that the suction unit is ready for use on the patient chair and can be easily inserted into the mouth at any time. During cleaning, the Cleaning Solution running away from the implant must be continuously and effectively suctioned away.
Use nonmetallic suction only.
During the cleaning process, metallic instruments, holders, etc. must be kept at least 20 mm away from the implant to be cleaned.
■ Inform the patient that during the subsequent cleaning process a saline liquid will be flushed into the mouth, to avoid frightening the patient.
Inform him or her that the liquid tastes salty but is harmless, and that it will be suctioned away as far as possible.
Start the cleaning process with the START button.
The indicator lamp next to “Process” lights up green and the display flashes “Tube filling” – during this time the liquid is pumped from the bottle to the Spray Head.
Once the liquid has arrived at the Spray Head, it is activated by the safety extra-low voltage –
“Cleaning” now appears in the display and the progress of the cleaning appears above in percent.
■ Check that the Sponge is filling with liquid and expanding. The Sponge should reach down into the deeper part of the implant. The Sponge must be completely soaked throughout the cleaning process.
■ If the Sponge is not soaked automatically, moisten it with water from the treatment chair.
■ Throughout the cleaning process, check that the Cleaning Solution is continuously pumping and that gas bubbles (foaming of the Cleaning Solution) are constantly forming around the implant.
■ If the liquid is interrupted or pumping in small quantities, or if no gas bubbles are visible, stop cleaning by pressing the PAUSE button.
■ Observe the cleaning and the patient during the cleaning process – do not leave the patient unattended!
■ Press the Spray Head into the implant from above throughout the cleaning process.
Press the Spray Head into the implant from above throughout the
■ During the entire cleaning process, check that the Implant Connector is in contact with the implant, otherwise the cleaning of the implant will be interrupted.
■ Check that the Spray Head is held firmly on the implant and remains in position.
Stop treatment immediately if the patient feels unwell. Press the PAUSE button (cleaning can then continue) or the END button (cleaning cannot be continued).
The Control Unit stops cleaning automatically when 100% is reached. No more liquid is pumped. A signal tone – “Beep – Beep – Beep”
– is emitted, the display shows “Completed - Remove Tubing”, and the indicator lamp next to
“Process” is dark.
Stopping the cleaning process
You can interrupt a running cleaning process at any time on the Control Unit with the PAUSE button. “Pause" flashes in the display and the progress of cleaning is shown as a percentage.
The indicator lamp next to “Process” flashes green during the interruption.
If you remove the Spray Head from the implant during the interruption, take care not to contaminate the end of the tube with the Spray Head! To avoid contamination, attach it to the Tube Holder.
Correctly attached Spray Head with the tube end of the Tube
Package to the Tube Holder The Spray Head should hang freely in the air
and should not touch any other objects, such as the Holding Bar or the unit itself.
The cleaning process can be restarted with the START button. Make sure that the Spray Head with the integrated Implant Connector and the Sponge is correctly placed on the implant.
Ending the cleaning process
You can stop a running cleaning process at any time on the Control Unit with the END button.
The indicator lamp next to "Process" goes out.
The display shows "Forced Stop – Remove tubing".
■ An ended cleaning process cannot be continued. If you want to continue cleaning after pressing the END button, you must first start a new cleaning process.
Completing cleaning
After the cleaning process completes or has been stopped, remove the Spray Head from the implant and out of the patient’s mouth.
Press the button for unlocking the plug on the Connector Port of the Control Unit and remove the plug of the Tube Package.
To do this, open the upper part of the pump by pushing the upper flap all the way up. Then remove the tube completely from the pump.
Complete opening of the upper flap Take the bottle of Cleaning Solution off the
Holding Bar.
Tube Package and Cleaning Solution are all disposable components – dispose of them properly immediately after cleaning.
■ Be sure that disposal is in compliance with your national and local laws, standards, regulations, and guidelines.
When you have removed the Tube Package from the Control Unit, actuate it with CONFIRM.
"Insert tubing" is displayed if you want to clean another implant.
To exit, press END and turn off the unit using the on/off switch on the back. The indicator lamp next to "On" goes out.
Unplug the Power Supply from the power outlet and pull the plug out of the connector on the back of the Control Unit.
Clean and disinfect (disinfectant wipe) the device, the Power Supply, the Holding Bar, and the Tube Holder immediately after use. See also the chapter “Hygiene, cleaning, and disposal”.
The Control Unit and Power Supply may not be cleaned under running water and are not suitable for mechanical cleaning (thermal disinfector).
