6. CONCLUSIONES
6.6 Sobre la viabilidad de las Metas del Milenio
En el nivel global, las Metas del Milenio no parecen ser viables para el 2015 (aunque es posible que se registren casos aislados con ODMs muy especificos). Esto debido a las caracteristicas del actual sistema internacional. Pero, gracias al enorme potencial de las asociaciones locales, su posible empoderamiento y el impulso de instituciones democraticas, el desarrollo minimo basico que nos aleja de los problemas mas graves de la pobreza sigue siendo posible. Si no para el 2015, si para un plazo mayor - indistintamente del sistema internacional que se consolide -.
Es posible superar problemas graves de alimentaci6n, salud, educaci6n y equidad - en cualquier pais sin importar las caracteristicas del sistema internacional - a traves del empoderamiento del capital social. Alejar a los paises en desarrollo de la pobreza si es viable, lo que no es viable es que las Metas del Milenio se alcancen para el 2015. La viabilidad de ese desarrollo deseado depende mas de la habilidad que los Gobiernos tengan para estimular el respeto, la autoestima y la confianza, para identificar las areas de oportunidad en donde pueda generarse y desarrollar el capital social, que de las caracteristicas del sistema internacional vigente.
