Soundcloud will comply with valid requests for user information received from law
enforcement, in accordance with its terms and the applicable legal process. Soundcloud is based in Berlin, Germany and will therefore process all disclosure requests pursuant to their Privacy Policy and the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany.
Soundcloud requires that all requests be related to specific accounts, implicated in specific investigations undertaken by law enforcement. Soundcloud’s policy is to notify users when Soundcloud would disclose their information in all cases, unless Soundcloud is expressly requested to not disclose by the competent authority.
Soundcloud can only respond to information requests filed by German authorities. Therefore, Soundcloud must request that all international law enforcement authorities follow the relevant

Your request must be made on law enforcement letterhead, signed by the requesting agent. This can be sent via email, fax or post. Soundcloud’s contact details are provided at the bottom of this guide. Please note that Soundcloud will not review or respond to any requests from non-law enforcement officials or non-valid email addresses.
All requests for user information must include the following:
● Requesting agency and law enforcement agent name

● The profile URL of the SoundCloud account in question (e.g. soundcloud.com/soundcloud)
● Details about the specific information being requested. Please ensure that the information you require is not available on the public profile of the specified account
● Legal grounds for data disclosure request
● The reason for your investigations and details about how the requested data relates to your investigation
● An official, agency-issued email address (e.g. [email protected]) so that Soundcloud can verify your identity and get back in touch with you
Unless otherwise requested, Soundcloud will provide records in electronic format (i.e. PDF files), which can be opened with the majority of word processing software.

2. Emergency Requests
You must submit an emergency request via email to [email protected] with the subject line EMERGENCY DISCLOSURE REQUEST. These requests are evaluated on a case-by-case basis and must include all of the following:
● Identity of the individual in imminent danger
● Nature of the emergency
● SoundCloud profile URL(s) of the account(s) containing information, which may prevent the emergency
● Details of the specific information requested and how it may prevent the emergency
● Link(s) to any content which may provide further details or context to support your request
SoundCloud’s users aware of an emergency situation should contact local law enforcement officials for assistance.
3. Assisting a Soundcloud user
If you are assisting a Soundcloud user with an investigation, and need to obtain a copy of their non-public Soundcloud account information, please ask the user to contact Soundcloud directly (contact details below). Soundcloud can then assist the individual with obtaining the required information.
4. Copyright
You can file a report using the online form at Report Copyright Infringement
Alternatively, each sound page has a button entitled “Report copyright infringement”, which you can use to report the sounds on that page. The button is located on the right side of the track page under the name of the user who uploaded it.
if you would prefer to send your own notification, you can do so in writing, making sure that you include the following information:
● a statement that you have identified sounds on SoundCloud which infringe your copyright or the copyright of a third party on whose behalf you are entitled to act;
● a description of the copyright work(s) that you claim have been infringed;
● a description of the track(s) that you claim are infringing and the SoundCloud URL(s) where such sounds can be located;
● your full name, address and telephone number, a valid email address on which you can be contacted, and your SoundCloud username if you have one;
● a statement by you that you have a good faith belief that the disputed use of the material is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law;
● a statement by you that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are authorized to act on behalf of the owner of the exclusive right that is allegedly infringed; In addition, if you wish for your notice to be considered as a notice pursuant to the United States Digital Millennium Copyright Act 17 U.S.C. §512(c), please also include the following:
● with respect to your statement that you are authorized to act on behalf of the owner of the exclusive right that is allegedly infringed, confirmation that such statement is made under penalty of perjury; and
● your electronic or physical signature (which may be a scanned copy).
