The InterPARES Project (International Research on Permanent Authentic Records in Electronic Systems) completed the first phase of its work at the end of 2001. Several different research methods were employed in this collaborative international project over the course of three years, including case studies of twenty-eight electronic record systems in different national and institutional contexts. The speakers at this session will present papers that discuss the work of the project in three major areas: authenticity, appraisal, and preservation, as well as its activities in the second phase.
