LITERATURA PARA LAS BRIOFITAS DE MEXICO

por CLAUDIO ÜELGADILLO M.2 El estudio de las briofitas mexicanas se inició hace muchos años con el tra-ba jo de Hernández (1651) quien hizo la primera comunicación de una hepá-tica del género Aitonia (Plagiocha.sma) en su Rerurn Medicarurn. Con el trans-curso del tiempo, la información, aun cuando no abundante, ha ido acumulán-dose de tal manera que en la actualidad se dificulta obtener la literatura ade-cuada para iniciar un estudio briológico. Por este motivo, decidirnos hacer una recopilación bibliográfica indicando no sólo los trabajos briológicos exclusivos de México, lo que nos daría una v'isión parcial de lo hecho, sino también ins,:lu-yendo las citas en que se mencionan hriofüas de la República Mexicana, no im-portando su objetivo principal. Debernos señalar, sin embargo, que el propósito de este artículo no es el de englobar todas las publicaciones aparecidas hasta la fecha, sino presentar una lista lo más completa posible que sirva corno punto de partida para la elaboración de nuevos traba jos briológicos mexicanos. Obvia-mente, en el futuro se encontrarán citas que aquí no han sido mencionadas.
