Resumo: Em organizações que visam a otimização de seus processos de negócios, a modelagem de processos pode ser utilizada para a representação de processos de trabalhos e fluxos de informações. Neste trabalho é explorado um processo organizacional da Universidade Federal do Pampa - UNIPAMPA, em que foram propostas soluções e melhorias utilizando a modelagem de processos. Através deste estudo pode ser vislumbrada uma versão deste processo empregando uma solução de sistemas de informação. Esta experiência foi vivenciada na disciplina de Sistemas de informação, no qual cada aluno teve que estudar um processo organizacional da UNIPAMPA e propor melhorias para o mesmo utilizando soluções tecnológicas. Este trabalho apresenta o processo estudado pelo autor principal, sendo ele o de cadastro de bolsistas de pós-graduação, uma atividade vinculada ao Programa de Auxílio da Pós-Graduação (PAPG). Os pontos de melhoria identificados para este processo envolvem a migração das atuais planilhas utilizadas para uma funcionalidade integrada ao sistema Gestão Unificada de Recursos Institucionais (GURI), o sistema de gestão utilizado pela UNIPAMPA. No estudo realizado verificou-se que a modelagem de processos é um recurso útil para organizações que planejam melhorar os seus processos. Através desta, é possível ilustrar processos de maneira simples e intuitiva.. Palavras-chave: Gestão de processos de negócio, Modelagem de processos, BPMN, Sistemas de Informação.
