Resumo: O atual cenário presenciado pelas organizações compreende um ambiente dinâmico que requer uma constante busca por mecanismos que permitam um melhor planejamento e desenvolvimento das atividades e alcance dos objetivos. Neste sentido, o gerenciamento dos processos institucionais auxilia na criação destes mecanismos ao passo que utiliza ferramentas de automação que agem como facilitadoras na gestão dos processos institucionais. A Universidade da Região da Campanha têm adotado práticas de qualidade em seus processos, realizando investimentos estruturais e operacionais na busca de um ambiente produtivo e que entregue qualidade ao cliente final. A partir destas afirmativas, o estudo objetivou otimizar o processo de contratação de funcionários de uma Universidade Comunitária de Ensino Superior (ICES). O estudo de caso contou com a utilização da metodologia BPM e do uso de Workflow onde foi possível mapear o processo, modelar e implementá-lo na ferramenta de workflow para então realizar a socialização junto aos setores. O estudo apresentou resultados positivos, dentre estes a automatização do processo, o controle do fluxo das atividades, verificação de possíveis gargalos no processo, redução de setores envolvidos, melhoria na comunicação interna através da utilização do workflow. Estudos futuros projetam a implementação desta metodologia nos demais processos da instituição bem como o monitoramento dos mesmo..
