Once again I present to you our annual general report. 2010 brought some great challenges to the company. One, perhaps the most evident, was the change to our corporate visual identity and the repositioning of our brand image in response to market demand and our concerns.

The new brand image expresses our need as a company to get closer to our clients, to give them that ‘something special’ we all need at some time and that we most notice when we have to go to a healthcare center.

A result of that need to provide close, global patient care is the acquisition of the Mobay Hope center in Montego Bay, Jamaica, which is now part of the Hospiten Group network, or the opening of a new center providing medical specialties in Algeciras, Cadiz.

One of the greatest milestones for the group at the end of 2010 was the acquisition of the majority of the capital stock, together with Cartera Industrial REA, of MD Anderson Cancer Center Madrid, the only affiliate institution in Europe of the prestigious University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas, a world point of reference in cancer care.

As a result of the tremendous effort made by every one of the 3,000 people that make up Hospiten and the central focus on our patients, the objectives achieved during 2010 are reflected in an annual turnover of 180 million Euros and 7,1 million Euros in investment, but even more important is enjoying the trust of over a million patients a year who choose us to protect their most precious possession – their health.

I would like to close by mentioning the great job done by the staff at the Hospiten Group in Spain, the Dominican Republic, Mexico and Jamaica. Thanks to their daily work and their vision, we can go on growing and be more am- bitious in the goals we set ourselves, and meet, with absolute confidence and satisfaction.

Un año más les muestro nuestra memoria anual. El año 2010 ha presentado importantes retos para nuestra compañía. Uno de ellos y quizás el más palpable ha sido el cambio de identidad visual corporativa y un reposicionamiento de nuestra imagen de marca, como respuesta a la demanda del mercado y a nuestras inquietudes.

Esta nueva imagen de marca expresa nuestra necesidad, como compañía, de acercarnos más a nuestros clientes, de ofrecerles ese “algo más” que todos necesitamos en algún mo- mento y que percibimos especialmente cuando tenemos que acudir a algún centro sanitario.

Fruto de esa necesidad de lograr una atención cercana y global es la adquisición del centro Mobay Hope en Montego Bay, Jamaica, que pasa a formar parte de la red de centros del Grupo Hospiten; o la apertura en Algeciras, Cádiz, de un nuevo centro de especialidades médicas.

Otro de los hitos importantes para nuestro Grupo a finales del año 2010 fue la adquisición de la mayor parte del capital social, junto con Cartera Industrial REA, de MD Anderson Cancer Center en Madrid, única filial en Europa del prestigioso centro The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center de Houston, referencia mundial a nivel oncológico.

Como resultado del importante esfuerzo de cada una de las 3.000 personas que forman Hospiten y de esa clara orientación hacia nuestros pacientes, son los objetivos alcanzados durante este año 2010 que se reflejan en una facturación anual de 180 millones de euros y 7.1 millones de euros en inversión, pero más importante que esto es disponer de la confianza de más de un millón de pacientes que anualmente nos eligen para que salvaguardemos su bien más preciado, la salud.

Quiero terminar destacando la importante labor de todo el personal del Grupo Hospiten en España, República Dominicana, México y Jamaica. Gracias a su trabajo diario y a su ilusión podemos seguir creciendo y ser cada día más ambiciosos en los objetivos, que vamos cum- pliendo con total solvencia y satisfacción.

Durante el año 2010 en el Grupo Hospiten se abrió un periodo de auditoría y aná- lisis exhaustivo de nuestra imagen corporativa. Teniendo como punto de partida el plan estratégico, se desarrolló un nuevo posicionamiento de marca que resultara atractivo para todos nuestros clientes.

La base de este nuevo posicionamiento es ofrecer a nuestros clientes una aten- ción asistencial completa, y con la posibilidad de acceder a los mejores tratamien- tos y técnicas que se están desarrollando a nivel internacional, siempre con la máxima seguridad.

Todo ello se consigue gracias a una red hospitalaria que abarca, en la actualidad, cuatro países y catorce mercados diferenciados, así como la experiencia de más de 40 años en el sector y un equipo de profesionales en constante formación. Esto nos permite convertirnos en el especialista internacional del mercado sanitario.

El nuevo posicionamiento culminó en una nueva identidad gráfica: el abrazo Hos- piten. Una identidad que va más allá de una representación gráfica de la compañía, respondiendo a una nueva forma de ver y entender el mercado de la salud. Una marca empática que realmente está al lado de los clientes, protegiéndolos en todo momento.

Nuestro nuevo claim “Global Care” aporta valores de modernidad, innovación y flexibilidad por el idioma en el que se comunica, definiendo exactamente las ca- racterísticas claves de nuestro nuevo posicionamiento que son el ámbito interna- cional, el cuidado integral del paciente y el cariño que se les ofrece.

La identidad mantiene el color principal de la marca con la introducción de tonali- dades más brillantes que aportan modernidad y calidez. Además, se ha optado por una tipografía en minúsculas que refuerza el carácter humano de esta compañía.

Over the year 2010, the Hospiten Group commenced a period of auditing and in–depth analysis of the corporate image. Using the company’s strategic plan as a base, the company developed a repositioning of the brand, which would result more attractive to all the clients.

The base for our new positioning is to provide our clients with comprehensive health care, with access to the best treatments and techniques that are being developed internationally, with the maximum guarantees.

This is all possible thanks to a network of hospitals currently covering four countries and fourteen di- fferent markets, in addition to more than 40 years’ experience in the sector and a team of professionals in continuous education. All this allow the Hospiten Group to be the international specialist on the healthcare market.

The new positioning culminated in a new graphic identity - the Hospiten hug. An identity that goes beyond the simple graphic representation of the company – responding to a new way of seeing and understanding the healthcare market. A sympathetic brand that really is on the patients’ side, protec- ting them at all times.

The new claim “Global Care” adds the values of modernity, innovation and flexibility through the lan- guage in which the message is transmitted, accurately defining the key characteristics of the new positioning, the international market, comprehensive patient care and kindness towards patients.

The new identity maintains the main color of the brand, but introduces brighter shades giving modernity and warmth. In addition, lower case typography was chosen to reinforce the human character of the company.

Cada uno de los 15 centros médico-hos- pitalarios que Hospiten tiene ubicados en España, República Dominicana, México y Jamaica, y la red asistencial ambulatoria y de coordinación de urgencias con más de 100 centros bajo la marca propia “Clinic Assist”, están orientados a cubrir comple- tamente las necesidades sanitarias de los lugares donde están presentes.

LOS HECHOS MÁS RELEVANTES

Outstanding Events 2010

The acquisition of new centers, the implementation of a new corporate visual identity and the opening of new sections and units at our hospitals marks the important events of the year 2010 and shows the Hospiten Group’s capacity to adapt and overcome adversity in the face of the current ever-changing and competitive economic climate.

One of the greatest milestones of the year took place in Algeciras, Cadiz, where the Hospi- ten Group opened a new Specialty Center, with more than 500 m² surface area and more than 15 medical specialties available. The center complements the facilities at Hospiten Estepona and aims to widen its area influence, bringing first class private medicine closer to the citizens of Algeciras and residents of Campo de Gibraltar.

La adquisición de nuevos centros, la implantación de una nueva identidad visual corporativa y la apertura de nuevas áreas y unidades en nuestros centros hospitalarios marcan los hechos más relevantes a lo largo de este año 2010 y muestran la capacidad de adaptación y superación del Grupo Hospiten ante un entorno económico tan cambiante y competitivo como es el actual.

Uno de los hitos más importantes de este año se produjo en Algeciras,

Cádiz, donde el Grupo Hospiten inauguró un nuevo Centro de Especiali-

dades Médicas con más de 500 metros cuadrados de instalaciones y más

de 15 especialidades médicas. Este centro complementa las instalaciones

de Hospiten Estepona con el objetivo de ampliar su área de influencia y

acercar a los algecireños y vecinos del campo de Gibraltar, una medicina

privada de primer nivel.

Cruzando el Océano Atlántico en el mes de noviembre se adquirió Mobay Hope Medical Center en Montego Bay, Jamaica, que complementa y conso- lida la red sanitaria del Grupo Hospiten en el país, compuesta por diez centros ambulatorios, bajo la marca propia “Clinic Assist”.

También en este año 2010 se funda el Instituto para el Desarrollo e Integración de la Sanidad (IDIS) en el que el Grupo Hospiten es uno de los dieciséis patronos fundadores; esta entidad sin ánimo de lucro tiene como principal objetivo pro- mover la mejora de la salud de todos los españoles y fomentar y desarrollar todas las iniciativas que, desde la sanidad privada, estén encaminadas a la consecución de un óptimo nivel asistencial y sanitario de todos los sectores de la población.

Acercándonos más a nuestros hospitales se sigue potenciando el aumento y mejora de las unidades y servicios asistenciales más demandados por nuestros pacientes; muestra de ello es la creación de una Unidad de Arritmias y Elec- trofisiología Cardíaca destinada al diagnóstico y tratamiento de las alteraciones eléctricas del corazón o la Unidad de Pie Diabético que tiene como objetivo diag- nosticar y tratar desde un punto de vista global y multidisciplinar esta patología.

Crossing the Atlantic Ocean in the month of November, the acquisition of the Mobay Hope Medical Center in Montego Bay, Jamaica, complemented and consolidated the Hospiten Group network in the country, consisting of ten outpatient centers under the registered brand name

“Clinic Assist”.

In addition this year, the Institute for the Development and Integration of Health Services (IDIS) was founded, in which the Hospiten Group is one of the sixteen founding patrons. The main aim of this non-profit making institution is to promote good health among the Spanish and develop initiative whose goal, in private medicine, is to attain optimum quality levels in medical and healthcare services for all sectors of the population.

Looking more closely at our hospitals, we continue to promote the growth and improvement of the healthcare units and services most needed by our patients and an example of this is the setting up of an Arrhythmia and Cardiac Electrophysiology Unit to diagnose and treat electrical disorders in the heart; or the Diabetic Foot Unit, whose aim is to diagnose and treat the condition from a global and multidisciplinary position.

The highlight of a year of growth and consolidation for our healthcare network was when, on December 29 2010, the Hospiten Group jointly acquired together with Cartera Industrial Rea the majority of the capital stock of the MD Anderson Cancer Center Madrid, an affiliate institution of The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center (Houston, USA) and a world point of reference in cancer care.

Como colofón a un año de ampliación y consolidación de nuestra red asis-

tencial, el 29 de diciembre de 2010 el Grupo Hospiten adquiere junto a Car-

tera Industrial Rea la mayor parte del capital social del centro MD Anderson

Cancer Center Madrid, filial de The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer

Center (Houston, EE.UU.) y referente mundial en el tratamiento del cáncer.

Uno de los factores claves en la gestión de cada uno de los centros del Grupo Hospiten es la eficiencia. Esta eficiencia se ve, claramente reflejada, en los estric- tos controles de calidad y medio ambiente que se extienden a todas las áreas de actividad del Grupo.

Muestra de este compromiso es la certificación de todos nuestros centros bajo las más estrictas normas y estándares internacionales como son la UNE EN ISO 9001:2008 y UNE EN ISO 14001:2008 de calidad medioambiental.

También en este año 2010 se ha obtenido el sello EFQM 400+ a la Excelencia Europea concedido por la “Fundación Europea de Gestión de Calidad” que está orientado a distinguir a aquellas organizaciones que siguen una estrategia dirigi- da a la excelencia en todas sus áreas. Siendo el sello 400+ el segundo nivel más alto que se puede obtener.

Debemos destacar que obtener el certificado EFQM 400+ y mantener las estric- tas normas de calidad y medioambiente sólo es posible con el compromiso y el trabajo diario de todo el personal del Grupo Hospiten que muestran cada día una orientación clara hacia el paciente, la eficiencia, la calidad y el medioambiente, cumpliendo los objetivos marcados en estas áreas.

One of the key factors in the management of each of the Hospiten centers is efficiency. That efficiency can be seen, clearly reflected, in the strict quality and environmental management controls that apply to all the Hospiten Group’s areas of activity.

Proof of that commitment is the certification of our centers under the strictest norms and international standards, as are the UNE EN ISO 9001:2008 and UNE EN ISO 14001:2008 for environmental management.

Furthermore, in 2010, we obtained the EFQM 400+ European Seal of Excellence, awarded by the “Euro- pean Foundation of Quality Management” whose purpose is to distinguish those organizations whose strategy aims to achieve excellence in all their areas.

We must point out that the obtaining of the EFQM 400+ certificate and keeping to the strict norms of quality assurance and environmental management is only possible thanks to the dedication and everyday work of all the Hospiten Group staff who show their dedication to patient care delivery, efficiency, quality assurance and environmental management and, thus, meet the established objectives for all these areas.

Continuando con nuestro Plan Estratégico 2008-2012 seguimos avanzando en los objetivos propuestos, por un lado seguir una senda de crecimiento en el mer- cado sanitario ganando dimensión a través de una expansión nacional e interna- cional, y por otro lado mejorar continuamente la atención y la calidad asistencial del servicio a nuestros pacientes enfocándonos al mercado local.

Como muestra del avance en estos objetivos, en este año 2010 hemos adqui- rido el centro hospitalario Mobay Hope en Montego Bay, Jamaica, que viene a complementar la asistencia sanitaria que se venía prestando a través de los diez consultorios médicos bajo la marca propia “Clinic Assist” ubicados en Montego Bay, Negril y Ocho Rios. En cuanto a la expansión en la Península Ibérica en sep- tiembre se inauguró un centro Hospiten de Especialidades Médicas en Algeciras, Cádiz, con más de 500 metros cuadrados; y en diciembre se adquirió, junto con Cartera Industrial REA la mayoría del capital social del MD Anderson Cancer Cen- ter de Madrid.

Todas estas nuevas adquisiciones posicionan al Grupo Hospiten como uno de los grupos hospitalarios de mayor proyección a nivel nacional e internacional, dotán- donos de una situación inmejorable para seguir en nuestro camino de expansión y consolidación de nuestra red asistencial.

Carrying on with our 2008-2012 Strategic Plan, we are moving on with the proposed goals - on one hand, to keep up a path of growth on the healthcare market, growing through a policy of national and international expansion and, on the other hand, to continually improve health services and the quality of our patient care delivery on the local market.

As proof of the progress made towards attaining these goals, in 2010 we acquired the Mobay Hope medical center in Montego Bay, Jamaica, which complements the healthcare services we provide at the ten Clinic Assist outpatient centers in Montego Bay, Negril and Ocho Rios. And in relation to our expansion on the Iberian Peninsula, in September we opened an Hospiten Specialty Center in Alge- ciras (Cádiz), with over 500 m² surface area; and in December we acquired, together with Cartera Industrial Rea, the majority of the capital stock of the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Madrid.

All of these new acquisitions establish the Hospiten Group as one of the healthcare groups with the greatest national and international proyections, placing us in an unbeatable position to move on with the expansion and consolidation of our healthcare network.
