Understanding and correct use of basic English grammar
Ability to read intensively (focussing on form) and extensively (focussing on general ideas)

Capacity to read another student’s text critically, to recognise strengths and weaknesses and to make suggestions for improvement
Capacity to access information available in English on Internet, examine it critically and use it to help improve reading and writing skills
By the end of Inglés Escrito II the student will have reached the level B2
-according to the Common European Reference Framework. This level indicates that the student is able to:
Read fluently, understanding the main idea of texts written in
contemporary English and extract information from general interest texts, newspaper and magazine articles, etc.
Produce a clear description or narrative, expanding and supporting his/her main points with relevant detail and examples
Use a limited number of cohesive devices to link text into clear, coherent discourse though there may be some ‘jumpiness’ in a long text
Show a relatively high degree of grammatical control. Does not make mistakes which lead to misunderstanding.
Express him/herself using a good range of vocabulary on topics of personal interest
Use accurate spelling and punctuation most of the time, although there
may still be signs of mother tongue influence

Grammar in use:
Grammatical structures relevant to the text types studied and necessary for the production of such texts, including: Present, past (narrative) and future tenses
Subordinate clauses Time adverbials
Adjective word order, descriptive adjectives Reported speech

-In order to pass this subject, students must attend at least 80% of theoretical and practical sessions, hand in at least 80% of required
exercises, essays and summaries and attend at least 4 tutorial sessions to discuss work with the teacher.
