Text Material Covered: Spanish XL 3: Capítulo 11 through Capítulo 15 Course Description
Spanish XL3 is a continuation of XL2 and part of a three quarter series (Spanish XL1, XL2, XL3) of elementary Spanish. This course will introduce the conditional, future, present perfect, commands, and passive voice; subjunctive moods; idiomatic expressions; and further development of conversational skills using the Communicative Method. Conducted entirely in Spanish.
Goals & Learning objectives
The goals and objectives of Spanish XL 3 are to continue developing linguistic fluency and attain
proficiency in all four communicative skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing. The main objective of this course is to introduce students to the grammatical structures that will enable them to express expectations, hopes, opinions, attitudes, doubts as well as to talk about past and future events and plans. In order to acquire fluency in Spanish, students will have the opportunity to engage in conversational activities in pairs and small groups on a regular basis. Grammar is necessary for communication.
However, vocabulary, discourse strategies and familiarity with the cultural norms are equally important.
