The Priest Apprecia$on Party and Farewell Mass was OVER THE TOP! I had so much fun celebra$ng the Mass and being with you. So much was memorable: Thank you for remembering the priests and praying for the priesthood.
The priesthood is God’s gi& to the Church. This gi& is given to bless us and remind us how much we are loved by God. Your support of the priests this day was laudable! On behalf of all of us, thank you.
Thank you for the unbelievable gi& of the Spiritual Bouquet and the bird! This week I quickly read through some of the notes you wrote and will take $me reading them more carefully over the next few weeks. Thank you for praying for me! I was humbled to see how many people par$cipated in the “Bird Project” or sent me a note and a gi&. I received a
mountain of cards and notes! I had no idea the bird-project was happening and I was truly surprised. Several months ago I had gone in search of a companion bird but I was unsuccessful in finding one. I never imagined that anyone could find one! The bird that you found is called an African Grey. Perhaps they are not flashy as some of the green Amazon parrots, but this breed is extraordinarily intelligent and it was exactly what I was looking for. The bird we found was born on May 13 (feast of Our Lady of Fa$ma) and can be adopted in about 12-15 weeks. I expect the bird to arrive in
mid-August. People have asked, what are you going to name the bird? A&er a moment of thinking, only one name came to mind: JP! JP will remind me of all of you and your extraordinary kindness toward me. Thank you!
The most las$ng memory of the day, however, will not necessarily be JP or the spiritual bouquet or the camel named Klyde. What I will take with me to Sun Valley and Hailey is the memory of a parish UNITED, SMILING, working TOGETHER and enjoying our common bond of FAITH and FUN! Last Sunday was a magical moment for our parish. We are moving beyond the pandemic and it is $me to come together again and recommit ourselves to doing the work of Jesus.
Con$nue to celebrate and announce and live the presence of Jesus! May God bless you and let us remember one another is our prayers, especially at the Mass.

¡La Fiesta de Agradecimiento al Sacerdote y la Misa de Despedida fueron EXCELENTES! Me diver* mucho celebrando la Misa y estando con$go. Mucho fue memorable: gracias por recordar a los sacerdotes y orar por el sacerdocio. El sacerdocio es un don de Dios a la Iglesia. Este regalo se da para bendecirnos y recordarnos cuánto nos ama Dios. ¡Su apoyo a los sacerdotes este día fue loable!
En nombre de todos nosotros, gracias. ¡Gracias por el increíble regalo del Ramo Espiritual y el pájaro! Esta semana leí rápidamente algunas de las notas que escribió y me tomaré un $empo para leerlas con más atención durante las próximas semanas.
¡Gracias por rezar por mi! Me sen* honrado de ver cuántas personas par$ciparon en el “Proyecto Pájaro” o me enviaron una nota y un regalo. ¡Recibí una montaña de tarjetas y notas! No tenía idea de que el proyecto de las aves estaba sucediendo y estaba realmente sorprendido. Hace varios meses había ido en busca de un pájaro de compañía, pero no pude encontrar uno. ¡Nunca imaginé que alguien pudiera encontrar uno! El pájaro que encontraste se llama gris africano. Quizás no sean tan llama$vos como algunos de los loros amazónicos verdes, pero esta raza es extraordinariamente inteligente y era exactamente lo que estaba buscando. El pájaro que encontramos nació el 13 de mayo (fiesta de Nuestra Señora de Fá$ma) y puede ser adoptado en unas 12-15 semanas. Espero que el pájaro llegue a mediados de agosto. La gente ha preguntado, ¿cómo le vas a poner nombre al pájaro? Después de pensarlo un momento, solo me vino a la mente un nombre: ¡JP!
