Next Sunday, March 19, is PANCAKE
SUNDAY. Bring your whole family and support our Wyoming Seminarians. Enjoy our “World Famous” pancake breakfast in the Parish Hall after the 10:00 AM Sunday Mass. In 2015, our local Council provided six $500 grants to support men in seminary and one grant to a local wom-an who joined a religious order. Grwom-ants are made from the proceeds of Pancake Sundays (3rd Sunday of each month) and Lenten Fish Fry Fridays. The Knights of Columbus is a Catholic men’s fraternal benefit society focused on sup-porting our parish and our community. Interest-ed in joining? If you wish to be commissioned for another three years, NOW is the time to let the clergy or staff know. Our intention is to have both a digital and a hardcopy available for pa-rishioners.
Sacraments and Celebrations During Lent
At Our Lady of the Mountains, we are going to adopt a Lenten custom common to many Catholic parishes, and that is the custom of not celebrating sacraments like Baptism and Matrimony and mile-stones like Quinceañeras and Presentations during Lent. This isn't because it's Lent and we Catholics hate fun during Lent, rather, it’s connected to the idea that our whole reason for being Christian, our whole reason we are a faith community, is because of the Death and Resurrection of Jesus. To prepare to celebrate those events anew every year, we fast and deprive ourselves of all sorts of things during Lent so we can appreciate them anew during East-er. In just the same way we will deprive ourselves of certain celebrations the Church gives us so we can appreciate them anew as well in the Easter season and tie them more closely to the miracle of the Resurrection. If you have any questions about this practice, please feel free to talk with Fr. Lucas or Fr. Brian. *This Lenten practice doesn't apply to emergency baptisms when a person is in danger of death. *
Sacramentos y Celebraciones Durante La Cuaresma
En Nuestra Señora de las Montanas, adoptaremos una costumbre que es común en muchas parro-quias Católicas. Es la costumbre de no celebrar sacramentos como Bautismos y Matrimonios y celebraciones como Quinceañeras y Presentacio-nes durante la Cuaresma. No es porque los Católi-cos odian a la diversión durante la Cuaresma, sino que esta conectado a la idea de que el motivo de ser Cristiano, la razón de que somos una comuni-dad de fe se debe a la Muerte y la Resurrección de Jesús. Para preparar a celebrar esos eventos de nuevo cada año, hacemos ayuno y nos privamos de todo tipo de cosa durante la Cuaresma para que podamos apreciarlos de nuevo durante la Pas-cua. De la misma manera, nos privaremos de cier-tas celebraciones de la Iglesia para que las aprecie-mos mas en la Pascua y vincularlas al milagro de la Resurrección. Si tiene una pregunta a cerca de esta costumbre, siéntanse libres de hablar con el Padre Brian o el Padre Lucas. *Esta costumbre cua-resmal no aplica a bautismos de emergencia cuan-do uno esta en peligro de la muerte.*

Parish Council
This week we would like to introduce you to another leadership team in the parish. The Parish Council is a distinct entity and should not be confused with the Finance Council.
The purpose of the Parish Pastoral Council or “Parish Council” is to give counsel to the Pas-tor concerning the pasPas-toral activity in the Par-ish. Under the authority of Fr. Lucas, this council investigates, considers, and proposes practical conclusions about those things that pertain to the pastoral ministry in the par-ish. In keeping with the theological implica-tions of the Church and Canon 536, the Parish Council possesses a consultative vote, which is not necessarily binding. Members of the council are fully initiated Catholics who are firm in their faith, have good morals and pru-dence, and are free of canonical penalties or impediments.
The Parish Council is here to listen to you, the members of the parish. They would like you to communicate your thoughts and ideas for the good of the parish. Please feel free to reach out to any member.
Leah Chace: Leah is active in Faith Formation and serves as a Pre-K/Kindergarten teacher.
Teresa Donnelly: Teresa currently is head of the Altar Server program. In addition, Teresa hosts the Saturday night Wine and Cheese Re-ceptions.
Chris Jaubert: Chris is the immediate past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus. He continues to serve the Knights and is in charge of the bulletin advertising.
Sandy Ostdiek: Sandy is the immediate past President of the Jackson Council of Catholic Women. She continues to contribute her time to JCCW, and she assists in the Parish Office.
Sal Rodriguez: Sal is a member of the Knights of Columbus and a regular cook for Knights’ events.
Natalie Stewart: Natalie hosted regular Bible study groups over the last few years for wom-en in our parish. She continues to mwom-entor women in the parish.
Lori Tillemans: Lori was instrumental in form-ing and leadform-ing the Welcomform-ing Committee under Fr. Randy. She continues to welcome all to the parish and frequently hosts the Coffee and Donut Hour after Sunday Mass.
Christi Yannelli: Christi is one of the leaders of the Youth Group and has been a Confirmation teacher. She participates in Eucharistic Adora-tion Holy Hour each Thursday.
Consejo Parroquial
Esta semana, nos complace introducirles a otro grupo de liderazgo parroquial. El Consejo Parroquial es una entidad distinta que no de-bería de ser confundida con el Consejo Finan-ciero.
El propósito del “Consejo Pastoral Parroquial” o “Consejo Parroquial” es dar consejos al Pas-tor concerniente la actividad pasPas-toral en la Parroquia. Bajo la autoridad del Padre Lucas, este Consejo investiga, considere, y propone conclusiones pragmáticas a cerca de las cosas que pertenecen al ministro pastoral en la pa-rroquia. De acuerdo con las implicaciones teo-lógicas de la Iglesia y el Canon 536, el Consejo Parroquial tiene un voto consultativo, lo que no sea obligatorio. Miembros del Consejo son Católicos totalmente iniciados que tienen una fe solida, prudencia, Buenos morales, y libres de impedimentos o castigos canónicos. El Consejo Parroquial esta aquí para escuchar-les a Ustedes, los miembros de la parroquia. Quieren que Ustedes les comuniquen sus pen-samientos e ideas para el bien de la parroquia. Leah Chace: Leah es maestra de Pre-Kinder en el programa de catequesis.

Chris Jaubert: Chris fue el ultimo el Gran Ca-ballero de los CaCa-balleros de Colon. El continua su servicio con los Caballeros y es el encargado de los anuncios del boletín.
