Poems to be studied: . The Procession of the Seasons (Edmund Spencer) . Spring, the sweet spring (Thomas Nashe)

Both poems should be studied and analysed in class.

 Students should be taught each poem so they gain an understanding of the language, form and structure.

 They can be given short questions to answer which will help further their understanding of the poems and prepare them for the final test.

 In the final test, they should be given the essay to do which is at the end of the poetry section.
