Check-list of the Chlorophyceae s. 1. from the Andalusian coast, based on literature records (from 1807 to 1995), is presented. Taxa are listed by provinces. Catalogue contains 86 species and infraspecific taxa accepted under current taxonomy. Key words. Andalusia, Chlorophyceae, check-list, Iberian Peninsula, seaweeds.

INTRODUCTION

Check-list of the Chlorophyceae

s.

1. from

the Andalusian coasts has been prepared in

keeping with the first chapter of the serie,

dedicated to the Phaeophyceae (Flores-Moya

et al. 1995). Basic source was due to Gallardo

et al. (1993), who presented the check-list of

Mediterranean green algae. In this way, the

present paper brings the data base of taxa up to

date, standardizing the taxonomic treatment

used by previous authors.

MATERIALS AND METHODS

Basic geographical unit was the political

province: Huelva (HU), Cádiz (CA), Málaga

(MA), Granada (GR) and Almería (AL) (see

fig. 1 in Flores-Moya et al., 1995). For each

province, the presence of a determinated taxa

is shown by a number which corresponds to the

bibliographical record. Data paper correspond

from 1807 to 1995. Recopilation papers were

used when they are available.

Italics were used for accepted taxa while

Roman types for unnaccepted taxa. Numbers

in brackets correspond to the notes.
