INVITATION–

on Monday, September 26, at

7:00pm, the Catholic Cemeteries Ministry of our Arch- diocese will be hosting an informational seminar in the Banquet Room on the lower level of the Activity Cen- ter to acquaint all parishioners with many services available through their ministry. They are a wonderful

“one stop shop” for comprehensive Catholic burial and funeral planning. It is never too early to learn and/or plan for this eventuality….. And their information and assistance is delivered in a faith-filled, educational and Cost-free manner.

Everyone will be contacted by a counselor and be giv- en the opportunity to receive important planning mate- rials and information. They will also be available after each Mass the weekend of September 24th and 25th to invite everyone to the seminar and help anyone with an interest or need.

The seminar is of course, cost-free and refreshments will be served. There will be a short presentation and valuable Q & A time!

Speaking Words of Love

Often we remain silent when we need to speak. With- out words, it is hard to love well. When we say to our parents, children, lovers, or friends: "I love you very much" or "I care for you" or "I think of you often" or

"You are my greatest gift," we choose to give life.

It is not always easy to express our love directly in words. But whenever we do, we discover we have of- fered a blessing that will be long remembered. When a son can say to his father, "Dad, I love you," and when a mother can say to her daughter, "Child, I love you," a whole new blessed place can be opened up, a space where it is good to dwell. Indeed, words have the pow- er to create life.

Thomas Merton’s Prayer That Anyone Can Pray…..

“ My Lord God. I have no Idea where I am going. I do not see the road ahead of me. I cannot know for cer- tain where it will end. Nor do I really know myself, and the fact that I think that I am following your will does not mean that I am actually doing so. But I believe that the desire to please you does in fact please you. And I hope I have that desire in all that I am doing. I hope that I will never do anything apart from that desire.

And I know that if I do this you will lead me by the right road, though I may know nothing about it . Therefore will I trust you always, though I may seem to be lost and in the shadow of death. I will not fear, for you are ever with me, and you will never leave me to face my perils alone.”
