In today's Gospel we hear Jesus say three times,
"Peace be with you." While this was a common greeting, Jesus was using it to remind them of his saying, "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give it to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled or afraid" (John 14:27). The disciples were hiding in fear, so they
needed reassurance. Jesus gives them that reassurance in three ways: his resurrection,
forgiveness of sins, and a blessing for future disciples.
Now that he is raised from the dead, they can take heart that no one can truly hurt them--even death has been overcome. The disciples had seen Jesus crucified and were afraid any of his followers would be treated the same way. So when Jesus appeared to them, he showed them his wounds and let them touch him. He wanted to show that he was not a ghost (a spirit or vision of someone who is still dead). He has risen from death and it has no more power over him. They can now take courage
because they will share in the Resurrection themselves. Breathing on them, he bestows the
Holy Spirit, source of our courage.
That leads to the second reassurance, forgiveness of sins. Jesus died to take away our sins; now he shares that with his disciples when he tells them
that they can forgive sins also (John 20:23).
Anyone troubled by guilt can be forgiven. The disciples themselves probably felt that need, since
they had deserted Jesus and one even denied knowing him. As Jesus was sent by his Father, he now sends his apostles with the mission to free others from sin. We too can forgive others (and ourselves) knowing that God has forgiven them and us. Finally, the story of Thomas and his doubts about Jesus' resurrection gives us some hope. Jesus blesses those who "have not seen and have believed" (John 20:29). That includes everyone down to the present generation who has believed on the word of others--from the apostles in the scriptures to holy people in our own time who have experienced the Lord in their lives. We often think the apostles were "more" blessed for having seen
and heard Jesus. But Jesus reverses that expectation; we are blessed, even two thousand

En el Evangelio de hoy escuchamos a Jesús decir tres veces: "La paz sea con vosotros". Si bien este era un saludo común, Jesús lo estaba usando para recordarles su dicho: "La paz os dejo, mi paz os doy. Yo no os la doy como el mundo la da. No se
desanime vuestro corazón". turbado o asustado" (Juan 14:27). Los discípulos se escondían con miedo, por lo que necesitaban tranquilidad. Jesús les da esa tranquilidad de tres
maneras: su resurrección, el perdón de los pecados y una bendición para los futuros discípulos. Ahora que resucitó de entre los muertos, pueden confiar
en que nadie puede hacerles daño de verdad, incluso la muerte ha sido vencida. Los discípulos
habían visto a Jesús crucificado y temían que alguno de sus seguidores fuera tratado de la misma
manera. Entonces, cuando Jesús se les apareció, les mostró sus heridas y dejó que lo tocaran. Quería demostrar que no era un fantasma (un espíritu o
visión de alguien que aún está muerto). Ha resucitado de la muerte y ya no tiene poder sobre
él. Ahora pueden tomar coraje porque ellos mismos compartirán la Resurrección. Al soplar
sobre ellos, otorga el Espíritu Santo, fuente de nuestro coraje. Eso lleva a la segunda seguridad, el perdón de los pecados. Jesús murió para quitar nuestros pecados; ahora comparte eso con sus discípulos cuando les dice que ellos también pueden perdonar los pecados (Juan 20:23).
Cualquiera que esté preocupado por la culpa puede
ser perdonado. Los mismos discípulos probablemente sintieron esa necesidad, ya que
habían abandonado a Jesús y uno incluso negó
conocerlo. Así como Jesús fue enviado por su Padre, ahora envía a sus apóstoles con la misión de
liberar a otros del pecado. Nosotros también podemos perdonar a otros (ya nosotros mismos)
sabiendo que Dios los ha perdonado a ellos ya nosotros. Finalmente, la historia de Tomás y sus
dudas sobre la resurrección de Jesús nos da alguna esperanza. Jesús bendice a los que "no han visto y han creído" (Juan 20:29). hospitality is part of our identity as a Church.
Our mission is to create community and build unity among all. The hospitality ministry will offer once a month

Es una oportunidad mas para encontrarnos con Jesús Eucaristía.
Es un momento de construir una relación más intima con Jesús para hablar,
conversar y escuchar a

Desde ya los invito a que vayan preparándose para hacer un espacio en su
agenda o calendario. Todos necesitamos a Jesús. Todos los días nos enfrentamos a muchas dificultades y no podemos solos. Jesús es el único que nos
puede ayudar a vencer la triste, enojo, odio, rencor, depresión, decepción y muchas otras cosas que no nos dejan experimentar la paz, la alegría y el amor de Dios. Hermano/a, si un minuto tienes para el Señor y te acercas a el con fe, el
te llenara de gracias. Si tienes mas tiempo, aprovecha esa oportunidad de
acompañar a Jesús.
Every first Friday of the month the Blessed Sacrament will be exposed for 24 hours. Starting at 9:00am on Friday to
9:00am on Saturday It is one more opportunity to meet Jesus
the Eucharist. It is a time to build a more intimate relationship with Jesus to speak,
converse and listen to Jesus. It is an opportunity to meet the King of Kings.
From now on I invite you to get ready to make a space in your agenda or calendar.
We all need Jesus. Every day we face many difficulties and we cannot do it alone. Jesus is the only one who can help
us overcome sadness, anger, hatred, resentment, depression, disappointment
and many other things that prevent us from experiencing the peace, joy and love of God. Brother and sister, if you
have a minute for the Lord and you approach him with faith, he will fill you with thanks. If you have more time, take
advantage of this opportunity to accompany Jesus.
