What return shall I make to the Lord for all the good that he has done for me Psalm 116:12

The Lord has given each of us many blessings.

When we stand back from our lives a bit and think about them, it is really overwhelming. Then it becomes easy to thank God and realize how full our lives are.

Out of gratitude, then we want to do something for God. That’s where serving God in our parish can be very helpful. When we began to participate in one of the ministries, one of the activities that keep our parish going, then we know that we are serving God, we are doing something for God.

We are showing God how grateful we are.

But something strange happens when we do that. We find that God blesses us in the very things that we do to show God how grateful we are. The very ministry or activity we choose becomes a great little part of our lives and we get so much benefit from it.

In the next several Sundays, we would like all our parishioners to consider what they can do as a ministry especially if they do not already have one. There are many ways that we need people to help here at the parish. We have a brochure that has a list of almost all of them, and then brochures about each of them specifically. Choose a couple and learn more about them. Pray that God might lead you to the ministry where you can use your gifts and your interests the most. Then sign up!

Wouldn’t it be great to have a parish where everyone is involved in a ministry – the whole parish showing God how grateful we are for all that God has done for us?

¿Qué retorno haré al Señor por todo el bien que él ha hecho por mí? Salmo 116: 12

El Señor nos ha dado a cada uno muchas

bendiciones. Cuando nos alejamos un poco de

nuestras vidas y pensamos en ellas, es realmente abrumador. Entonces se vuelve fácil agradecer a Dios y darse cuenta de cuán llenas están nuestras vidas.

Por gratitud, queremos entonces hacer algo por Dios. Ahí es donde servir a Dios en nuestra parroquia puede ser muy útil. Cuando comenzamos a participar en uno de los ministerios, o una de las actividades que mantienen a nuestra parroquia en marcha, sabemos que estamos sirviendo a

Dios, que estamos haciendo algo por Dios. Le

estamos mostrando a Dios lo agradecidos que estamos.

Pero algo extraño sucede cuando hacemos eso. Encontramos que Dios nos bendice en las mismas cosas que hacemos para mostrarle a Dios lo agradecidos que estamos. El mismo ministerio o actividad que elegimos se convierte en una pequeña parte de nuestras vidas y nos beneficiamos mucho de ello.

En los próximos domingos, nos gustaría que todos nuestros feligreses consideren lo que pueden hacer como Ministerio especialmente si no tienen

uno. Hay muchas maneras en que necesitamos que la

gente ayude aquí en la parroquia. Tenemos un folleto que tiene una lista de casi todos ellos, y también folletos sobre cada uno de ellos específicamente. Elige un par y aprende más sobre ellos. Ora para que Dios te guíe al ministerio donde puedes usar tus dones y tus intereses al máximo. Entonces

regístrate! ¿No sería maravilloso tener una

parroquia donde todos participen en un ministerio, la parroquia completa que muestra a Dios lo agradecidos que estamos por todo lo que Dios ha hecho por nosotros?

The hectic pace of daily life leaves little space for quiet and prayer. At the end of each month, please join us for a quiet morning on the Fourth Saturday of each month. Optional Mass in Spanish at 8 AM, coffee and continental breakfast at 8:30 AM, short orientation talk and group meditation, quiet time in chapel or garden or library, short talk on Ignatian spirituality and meditation time. Closing at 11:30 AM. Casa Loyola at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish. No need to sign up just show up.
