We hope that by making this schedule of Masses available to you this early will be helpful in making your holiday plans. We would like to remind everyone that the Christmas Season begins the evening of Friday, Dec. 24 and goes through Sunday, January 9. Most people have their Christmas parties before Christmas during the Advent Season and then do nothing during the Christmas Season. The Advent Season is a time of
preparation to celebrate the Birth of the Lord at Christmas. It is recommended that everyone have their Christmas parties during the Christmas Season and not during Advent. Let us all celebrate the seasons as
they are meant to be celebrated and not just in a way that makes everything convenient for us. Doing everything by convenience lessens the meaning of what we are celebrating. May we celebrate all of the Holy Days and Holidays as the Church asks of us so that the true meaning of each is fully experienced and
lived in our lives of faith. May Jesus truly be the meaning of each celebration.
Esperamos que al poner este horario de Misas a su disposición tan temprano sea útil para hacer sus planes de vacaciones. Nos gustaría recordar a todos que la temporada de Navidad comienza la noche del viernes 24 de diciembre y se realiza hasta el domingo 9 de enero. La mayoría de las personas tienen sus fiestas de Navidad antes de Navidad durante la temporada de Adviento y luego no hacen nada durante la temporada de Navidad. …(continued)... St. Stephen was taken to the Sanhedrin, the supreme rabbinic court in Jerusalem. Instead of defending his innocence, he
gave a speech about the history of Israel and the blessings that God has given upon his chosen people which was recorded in Acts Chapter 7 of the Bible. The crowds watching the trial were furious after being rebuked. They dragged him out to the city and started stoning him to death.
This scene was depicted in Dutch artist Rembrandt’s “The Stoning of Saint Stephen.” His last words were, “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.
Lord, do not hold this sin against them.”
