To earn graduation credit, your child will have to pass the Algebra 1 End-of-Course exam – a high-stakes test that will determine her/his future. To help your student succeed, the University of Florida created ALGEBRA NATION – a FREE highly effective, intensive, interactive algebra and Algebra End-of-Course exam preparation resource. Your student will be able to watch videos and receive algebra help 24/7.
What is the Algebra End-of-Course exam?
-‐ For your child to receive algebra credit and graduate from high school, she/he must pass this test at the end of the semester.
-‐ This test is a computer-based exam that will have 35-40 multiple-choice questions and 20-25 fill-in response questions.
What is Algebra Nation?
-‐ Algebra Nation meets your child on his/her own time in a familiar, comfortable pressure free environment. Algebra Nation is available online and on iPhones and Android phones.
-‐ Highly interactive and fun videos help your child review the material they learn in the classroom after school or on the weekends.
-‐ Study guide packets come with every video. Your child can print out study guides and use them to follow along with the videos.
-‐ The “Test Yourself!” practice tool (only available online) allows your student to check if s/he understood the material. The “Test Yourself!” section also looks similar to the EOC, so it will also help your child get comfortable with computer-based testing.
o The results page will not only show which problems your child got right or wrong, but will also feature videos that break down how to solve each problem.
-‐ Algebra Wall: interactive discussion forum where students can ask and answer questions anytime about the material.
o Study Experts and teachers answer questions and read every thread to ensure the accuracy of peer replies. (All Study Experts and teachers have undergone
background checks.)
Go to www.AlgebraNation.com and click “Enter Algebra Nation.” Have your child enter the name of his/her school. The next screen will prompt them to enter their Username and Password.
Ask your child to watch videos to help him/her on homework, to review for a test, or to ask questions on the Algebra Wall that weren’t answered in class.. Also encourage your child to regularly use the “Test Yourself!” Practice Tool. The practice tool will help your student see which parts of the material she/he understood, and which videos she/he should review.

La Universidad de Florida junto con su socio, Study Edge, ha creado un recurso para ayudar a que su estudiante tenga éxito en el examen. ALGEBRA NATION (La Nación de Algebra) es un recurso muy eficaz e intensivo que está disponible las 24 horas del día en la computadora o en el celular.
¿Qué es el examen final de álgebra? -‐ Para que su niño/a reciba el crédito de álgebra para graduarse del colegio, ella/él tiene que pasar este examen.
Los estudiantes dan este examen en la computadora. Hay entre 55-‐65 preguntas en total.
¿Qué es ALGEBRA NATION?
La Universidad de Florida junto con Study Edge ha desarrollado este fácil de usar recurso en línea. Este recurso está disponible no solo en línea pero también en teléfonos celulares.
En los videos jóvenes expertos y maestros dinámicos de álgebra de Florida explican los
conceptos básicos de álgebra. Los videos interactivos permiten que su hijo/a revise el material que aprendió en el aula después de la escuela o en los fines de semana.
El recurso incluye guías de estudio que se puede imprimir y utilizar con los videos.
Hay también una sección para cada tema donde los estudiantes pueden dar un examen pequeño para ver si comprendieron el material. Esta sección también ayudará a su niño/a acostumbrarse a presentar un examen el la computadora.

¿Qué puedo hacer para ayudar a mi hijo/a? En la computadora, vaya a AlgebraNation.com a inscribirse. Su hijo/a tiene que escribir su nombre y también el nombre de su colegio.
Inmediatamente el programa le va a pedir a su hijo/a que ponga su usuario y su clave que tiene de su colegio. Asegure que su niño/a se inscriba a AlgebraNation.com y que vea los videos e interactué con los otros estudiantes. Su niño debe terminar cada sesión utilizando el programa en que puede presentar el pequeño examen. Se llama “Test Yourself!” Este examen ayudará a su estudiante a ver cuales partes del material comprendió y cuáles de los videos debe revisar de nuevo.
Ud. también puede ver los videos, el guía y el foro recíproco en su teléfono celular. Solo tiene que bajar la aplicación gratis o del Apple Store o del Google Play.
