This year has brought about much unexpected change to our daily routines. Due to the COVID - 19 pandemic, many have been challenged by working remotely, navigating online learning or engaging in other virtual activities that typically happen in-person. These changes have allowed many to stay at home for ex-tended periods of time. Whether you have spent more time at home alone or with your family, this year has provided a unique oppor-tunity to encounter the Lord in those around you. The document Lumen Gentium says this about the family:
“The family is, so to speak, the domestic church. In it parents should, by their word and example, be the first preachers of the faith to their children; they should encour-age them in the vocation which is proper to each of them, fostering with special care vocation to a sacred state.” Because of this vital role of families in passing on and nurturing the faith, Bish-op Joe Vásquez has inaugu-rated the “Year of the Domes-tic Church” beginning on December 27, 2020, the Feast of the Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph. Throughout the next year, we will focus on twelve different monthly themes with accom-panying resources. These will aid our parish family and your individual families in observance of the Year of the Domestic Church. No matter what your household dynam-ic is, whether it is a home of one person or a family of many, we are all called to bear witness to and share the Gospel with our families and within our households. Let us all hold each other in prayer throughout the next year as we experience the merciful love of God as we grow in faith in our personal and par-ish family.
Este año ha traído muchos cambios inesperados a nues-tras rutinas diarias. Debido a la pandemia del COVID-19, muchos han tenido el reto de trabajar de manera remota, de navegar el aprendizaje en línea o de involucrarse en otras actividades virtuales que típicamente suceden en persona. Estos cambios han permitido que muchos se queden en casa por periodos extendidos de tiempo. Ya sea que usted haya pasado más tiempo en casa solo(a) o con su familia, este año ha ofre-cido una oportunidad única para encontrar al Señor en aquellos a su alrededor. El documento Lumen Gentium dice esto sobre la familia: “La familia es, por así decirlo, la iglesia doméstica. En ella, los padres deben, por su palabra y ejemplo, ser los primeros predicadores de la fe para sus hijos; ellos deben animar en ellos la vocación propia de cada uno de ellos, fomentan-do con especial cuidafomentan-do la vocación al estado sagrado”.
Por este papel vital de las familias en la transmisión y el enriquecimiento de la fe, el Obispo José Vásquez ha inau-gurado el “Año de la Iglesia Doméstica” que comenzará el 27 de diciembre de 2020, Festividad de la Sagrada Fa-milia de Jesús, María y José. A lo largo del próximo año, nos enfocaremos en doce temas mensuales diferentes acompañados por recursos. Estos ayudarán a nuestra familia parroquial y a sus familias individuales a ob-servar el Año de la Iglesia Doméstica. No importa la dinámica de su hogar, si es un hogar de una persona o una familia de muchas, estamos llamados a dar testimonio y a compartir el Evangelio con nuestras familias y dentro de nuestros hogares.

Sacramento del Matrimonio
El ministerio de matrimonios Ágape presenta
clases preparatorias dos veces al año para recibir el
Sacramento del Matrimonio. La primera sesión se
impartirá el domingo 31 de enero a las 2:30 p.m.
Estas clases son un requisito para casarse por la
iglesia. Las clases son para parejas comprometidas,
así como para parejas que están viviendo en unión
