Kindergarten
Parents: We truly appreciated your donations for the tiendita as well as your time. Our homework completion percentage is about 95% so
keep up the good work. We need every student to be on time in the mornings; we haven’t won any pizza parties this school year due to so
much tardiness; please help us achieve our goal. Remember that students are learning to read with expression so every time you come across
an exclamation or question mark make sure to model to your child how to read it correctly. This is a short month and we have to make it
count!
Padres: Sinceramente agradecemos sus donaciones para la tiendita al igual que su tiempo. Nuestro porcentaje de tareas
cum-plidas es del 95%, sigamos con el buen trabajo. Necesitamos que los estudiantes lleguen temprano en las mañanas; no hemos
ganado ninguna fiesta de pizzas este año debido a las tardanzas, ayúdenos a cumplir nuestra meta. Recuerden que los niños
están aprendiendo a leer con expresión así que cada vez que encuentren un signo de interrogación o exclamación muéstrenle a
sus hijos la manera correcta de leerlas. Este es un mes corto por lo que tenemos que hacerlo valer!

We would like to congratulate the students who, because of hard work and dedication, Met and Exceeded on their Galileo Benchmark Assessments. For the English Language Arts Assessment, the students who received a score of Meets (80%-89%) were Sajara Kanae in First Grade and Maytee Alderete, Mar-bel Acosta and Maria Parra in Second Grade. On the Galileo Math Benchmark Assessment, the students who scored Meets or Exceeds (90%-100%) were Maytee Alderete, Maria Parra, Ximena Barnett, Marlene Gim and Elizabeth Zubiate. We are very impressed with each of these students’ commitment to their learning. We would also like to send a thank you to those students who have been participating in collecting soda tabs for our school drive, especially to David Mata, Jessica Renteria and Christopher Espinoza. The 31st of March will be the last day to bring in soda tabs. We ask that you keep supporting us by bringing in more soda tabs. We will be giving two more prizes to the students who bring in the most soda tabs during the month of March. We will be celebrating Dr. Seuss’ birthday and the inauguration of our library on March 2nd. Please read the list of activities students will be participating in each day
so that they can participate fully in our festivities.
Queremos felicitar a los estudiantes del primer nivel que gracias a su esfuerzo lograron pasar las pruebas de Galileo. De lectura fueron: Sajara Kanae de primer grado, Maytee Alderete, Marbel Acosta and Maria Parra de segundo grado. En el Galileo de Matemáticas los estu-diantes que pasaron los exámenes fueron Maytee Alderete, María Parra, Ximena Barnett, Marlene Gim and Elizabeth Zubiate. A.R. Points and Quarter Finals in both languages will be held during the last week of the quarter (March 14-18). The end of quarter
3 is on March 18
th. Power School and students’ agendas are important tools for parents to keep informed, please use them
effective-ly. The Arizona State Test is around the corner and your child’s attendance is vital, as well as completing their daily assignments.
Parents with a scheduled appointment will be required for March’s Parent-Teacher Conferences.
Los puntos de Lectura Acelerada y exámenes finales de cuarto en ambos lenguajes serán en la última semana del
cuarto (marzo 14-18). El fin del tercer cuarto es el 18 de marzo. Power School y la agenda de los estudiantes son una
herramienta importante para que los Padres se mantengan informados, por favor úselas efectivamente. El examen del

We are glad to inform you that from the money collected from our “tiendita”, we will be purchasing
books for our, both our English and Spanish AR libraries. Your support of making sure your child is
reading at home, as well as completing home works, from both our regular classes and tutoring is
greatly appreciated. All homework is added in PowerSchool. In addition, please make sure your child
has an exclusive folder for him/her homework.
Les informamos que con los ingresos recaudados de la tiendita escolar, estaremos
com-prando libros para nuestra biblioteca de AR tanto en inglés, como en español. Así mismo,
solicitamos su apoyo de lectura en casa, así como en tareas, tanto en clases regulares

During March 2nd and 3rd, Level 4 students will be participating in an overnight leadership camp put on by the international organization Me 2 We. This opportunity will allow Level 4 students to continue to build their leadership, that they will need to finish their Sunship Quest and the Civic Action piece of their portfolio.
This month 8th grade students will be taking their Spanish placement exam for Nogales High School. If students place in Spanish II or Spanish III they receive credit for Spanish I without having to take the class. The test will take place on Saturday March 5th at Nogales High School. Trans-portation will be provided form our school to Nogales High School at 7:30 am. After the test, transTrans-portation will be provided back to the school around noon.
Durante el 2 y 3 de marzo, el nivel 4 estará participando en un campamento de liderazgo facilitado por la organización internacional Me 2 We. Esta oportunidad permitirá que los estudiantes de nivel 4 continúen desarrollando su capacidad de liderazgo, que necesita-rán para terminar su proyecto final del programa Sunship III y la pieza de Acción Cívica del portafolio.
Los alumnos de octavo deberán presentarse el sábado 5 de marzo a las 7:30 AM en nuestra escuela para ser transportados a su examen de prueba de nivel de español en Nogales High School. Este examen determinará el nivel de español que tomaran durante su primer año de preparatoria. Los alumnos que logren calificar en la clase de español II.III recibirán crédito por la clase de español I
sin tener que tomar la clase. Después del examen, serán trasladados de vuelta a Mexicayotl alrededor del mediodía.
