Resumen de la Lección
Hoy estás comenzando tu preparación para el sacramento de la Confirmación. La Confirmación es el segundo sacramento de iniciación, después del Bautismo. Hablaremos de tu Bautismo y cómo fue el comienzo del plan de Dios para tu vida.
El Bautismo te acercó a Dios, te hizo parte de Su familia. Es el comienzo de una amistad que durará por siempre. El Bautismo es el primero de muchos pasos que tomarás en tu vida con Dios.
En el Bautismo te hiciste un hijo de Dios Padre. Dios es eterno—Él siempre ha existido y siempre existirá.
Tú no has existido desde siempre. Dios te creó y te eligió para que vivieras con Él por siempre en el cielo.
Si sigues el plan de Dios para tu vida, creyendo en Su Palabra, orando y obedeciendo Sus mandamientos, serás por siempre feliz con Él.
Le llamamos Historia de la Salvación a la historia del plan de Dios para el mundo y nuestras vidas. Somos parte de esta historia. Estamos viviendo en la última parte de la historia. Jesús creó Su Iglesia para enseñar a todos los pueblos quién es Él, y durante la misa, Él viene a ofrecer Su Cuerpo y Sangre a quienes creen.
Nos volvemos parte del pueblo de Dios en el Bautismo y entramos en la Historia de la Salvación
Se están preparando para recibir dos sacramentos más este años: La Confirmación y la Eucaristía. Estos sacramentos harán crecer dentro de ustedes la vida de Dios que comenzó en el Bautismo. Son los siguientes pasos del plan de Dios para sus vidas.
El Espíritu Santo
Los Santos:
Un santo es una persona (como tú y yo) que amó a Dios
muchísimo, tuvo una relación personal muy cercana a Él, y trató de vivir según la Voluntad de Dios en su vida. Ellos estuvieron siempre abiertos a la gracia del Espíritu Santo e imitaron muy de cerca a Cristo. Todos los santos están en el cielo gozando del amor de Dios.
La Iglesia celebra muchos santos por dos razones:
1. Porque son nuestros modelos: ellos han dedicado sus vidas a Dios y han amado mucho a sus hermanos. Al aprender de ellos, podemos descubrir cómo ser nosotros mismos santos.
2. Porque interceden por nosotros: ya que gozan de la
cercanía de Dios en el cielo, ellos pueden pedirle que atienda nuestras necesidades e intenciones. Los santos nos aman y nos cuidan, y siempre estarán dispuestos a interceder por nosotros.

The Saints:
A saint is a person (just like you and me) who loved God very much, had a very close relationship with Him, and was faithful to the plan God had for them. They were open to the graces of the Holy Spirit and imitated Christ very closely. The saints are all in heaven rejoicing in God’s love.
The Church celebrates many saints for two reasons:
1. To be our models: they have dedicated their lives to God and have loved others very much. By learning about them, we can learn how to be saints ourselves.
2. To pray for us: since they are so close to God in Heaven they can ask Him to respond to our needs and intentions. The saints love us and care about us and they will always be willing to intercede (pray) for us.
Today, you are beginning your preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation. Confirmation is the second Sacrament of Initiation, following Baptism. We will be looking back to your Baptism and how it was the beginning of God’s plan for your life.
Baptism made you close to God, a part of His family.
It is the beginning of a friendship that will last forever.
Baptism is the first of many steps you will take in your life with God.
In Baptism you became a child of God the Father. God is eternal—He has always existed and will always exist.
You did not always exist. God created you and chose you to live with Him forever in Heaven. If you follow God’s plan for your life, by believing His Word, praying, and obeying His commands, you will be happy with Him forever.
We call the story of God’s plan for the world and for our lives Salvation History. We are a part of this story. We are living in the last part of the story. Jesus created His Church to teach all people about Him and to give His Body and Blood to those who believe at Mass. We became a part of God’s people in Baptism and entered into the story of Salvation History.
You are getting ready to receive two more sacraments this year: Confirmation and the Eucharist. These sacraments will grow the life of God in you that began with Baptism. They are the next steps of God’s plan for your life.

• Ask your parents about the date of your Baptism. You can find it by looking on your baptismal certificate. (You can call your parish to find out as well). Remember it and try to celebrate it every year with a special prayer and something fun. Your Baptism day is a second birthday, when you were born a second time by being adopted as a child of God.
• Practice saying the Apostle’s Creed with your family.
The Apostle’s Creed
I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of Heaven and earth; and in Jesus Christ, His only Son Our Lord, Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into Hell; the third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into Heaven, and sits at the right hand of God, the Father almighty; from there He shall come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body and life everlasting. Amen.
• Pregunta a tus padres sobre la fecha de tu Bautismo. La fecha la puedes encontrar buscando tu acta de Bautismo (puedes llamar a tu parroquia para preguntar esa fecha también).
Recuérdala y trata de celebrarla cada año con una oración especial y algo divertido. Tu día de Bautismo es tu segundo cumpleaños, cuando naciste por segunda vez al ser adoptado como hijo de Dios.
• Practica rezando el Credo de los Apóstoles con tu familia.
Credo de los Apóstoles
Creo en Dios Padre, Todopoderoso, Creador del cielo y de la tierra, y en Jesucristo, Su único Hijo, nuestro Señor, que fue concebido por obra y gracia del Espíritu Santo, nació de Santa María Virgen, padeció bajo el poder de Poncio Pilato, fue crucificado, muerto y sepultado, descendió a los infiernos, al tercer día resucitó de entre los muertos, subió a los cielos y está sentado a la derecha de Dios Padre, Todopoderoso. Desde allí vendrá a juzgar a vivos y a muertos. Creo en el Espíritu Santo, la Santa Iglesia Católica, la comunión de los santos, el perdón de los pecados, la resurrección de la carne y la vida eterna. Amén.
