The meeting will be held at the Cathedral Church of St. Paul, 138 Tremont Street in Boston. Please respond if you are interested in volunteer-ing on June 5th. WELCOME, FR. ANDREA POVERO!
We are very grateful to Cardinal O’Malley for assigning the newly-ordained priest, Fr. Andrea Povero, as a parochial Vicar in our collaborative. A son of Ivrea in northwestern Italy some miles north of Turin, he is the youngest child of Rita and the late Franco Povero. His eldest sibling is his brother Mario and two older sisters Valentina and Anna. His home parish in Ivrea is San Lorenzo. He was born on Nov. 27, 1987. Before coming to the US, he completed his undergraduate education in his native Ivrea. An alumnus of Redemptoris Mater Archdiocesan Missionary Seminary, Brookline, Father Andrea has served as a deacon this past year at St. Patrick Parish in Brockton. We hope that his ministry among us may be very fruitful and joyful! Please give a warm welcome to Fr. Andrea next week-end, June 2-3.

Estamos muy agradecidos al Cardenal O’Malley for darnos al Padre Andrea Povero, un recién ordenado sacerdote, como vicario parroquial en nuestra Colaborativa. Nacido en Ivrea, en
el noroeste de Italia, a algunos kilómetros al norte de Turín, es el hijo más joven de Rita y del difunto Franco Povero. Su her-mano mayor Mario y dos hermanas mayores Valentina y Anna.
Su parroquia natal es San Lorenzo en Ivrea. Padre Andrea na-ció el 27 de noviembre del 1987. Antes de llegar a los Estados
Unidos, completó su educación preuniversitaria en Ivrea. Alumno del Seminario Misionero Arquidiocesano Redemptoris Mater, en Brookline, el Padre Andrea ha servido como diácono todo el año pasado en la Parroquia de San Patricio en Brockton. Esperamos que su ministerio entre nosotros dea muy fructífero y lo llene de alegría en el Señor. Por favor, den una cálida bien-venida al Padre Andrea el próximo fin de semana, Junio 2-3.

St. Vincent de Paul Society
Thank you for your donations left in the back of the
church. We meet every Thursday from 6:30 to 7:30pm
at Fr. Thomas Hall. Through your generosity we are
able to provide food vouchers to Stop & Shop for those
in need. Once a month we provide, laundry and dish
detergent, shampoo, hand soap and tooth paste. Again
we appeal to your generosity to leave some of these
items at the back of the church, so that we may continue
to do this. We remind you that the Saint Vincent de
Paul is not able to accept used clothing.

iglesia. La Sociedad de San Vicente se reúne todos los
Jueves de 6:30 to 7:30pm .en el salón parroquial de la

New plaque
The marker on the corner of Child Street, across from the
Church, memorializes Lt. Daniel M. Kellett who was
killed in action in Viet Nam. Mr. Kellett served Mass at
St. Thomas's and graduated from the Grammar School in
1956. The City of Boston is preparing an enhanced plaque
that will replace the current marker. The plan is to unveil
the new plaque on Memorial Day, Monday, May 28th,
with the Kellett family and friends. Join them.
Nueva placa
El marcador en la esquina de Child Street, frente a la
igle-sia, conmemora al teniente Daniel M. Kellett que murió
en acción en Vietnam. El Sr. Kellett sirvió en las misas de
Santo Tomas y se graduó de la escuela primaria en 1956.
La ciudad de Boston está preparando una placa mejorada
que reemplazará al marcador actual. El plan es de revelar
la nueva placa el lunes 28 de mayo, con la familia Kellett

Coffee, tea, chocolate, cocoa, olive oil and snacks from farmers in the Dominican Republic, Mexico, Peru, Colombia, Ethiopia, Pa-lestine, and other parts of the world, will be available for your purchase. These sales benefit farmers by giving them a fair price for their work and benefit the work of the Social Justice Cluster of St. Mary of the Angels. Keep our good work alive After the 11am Mass on Sunday, June 10, Abel Fernandes, business manager of the CONACADO farmers' cooperative in the Dominican Republic, will speak in the parish house about the work of the cooperative. CONACADO produces the cacao that goes into the chocolate bars and cocoa products that our parish purchases from Equal Exchange in our quarterly FAIR TRADE sales. Make your chocolate purchases after Mass, then head over the parish house to hear about how about how they come to be and how farmers receive a fair price for their work.
