 Uplift has the right to exclude students with documented histories of a criminal offense, juvenile court adjudication, or discipline problems under Subchapter A, chapter 37, Texas Education Code.

 Uplift has the right to verify eligibility data, such as applicant’s date of birth, residency or basis for an exemption. If incorrect information is provided in the application, the admission may be revoked.

What is the Lottery?

 Admission is determined by a name-blind lottery.

 Each Uplift School has limited space. A lottery is held when more applications are received than there are available spaces.

(3)

What is the Lottery selection process?

How will families be notified?

 Applicants selected in the lottery will be notified by email in the spring after the lottery is conducted.

 The admitted list will be posted on the school’s website. Some Uplift Schools will also post the results in the school’s lobby.

 If notification is not received, by late spring, regarding child’s status in the lottery, please contact the Community Engagement and Enrollment Coordinator at your first choice school.

How do families accept their admittance?

 Admitted students must indicate their decline or acceptance within 2 weeks of the receipt of notice of admittance email. If we do not receive a response within the 2 week timeframe, we will assume that you are declining the offer of admittance.

 After the school receives the acceptance confirmation, admitted students will be emailed a snapcode. The snapcode is the student’s unique identifier for the online enrollment process.  Newly admitted scholars will be notified to attend a Pre-Attendance Conference (PAC) to be

held at the school in the late spring.

 Uplift reserves the right to determine grade placement based on a review of prior academic records and state testing.

What is the Waitlist and how does it work?

 Applications received AFTER the application deadline are placed on the waitlist in the order received.

 Waitlists are established when an Uplift School receives more applications for a given grade than space available. In the event that a spot becomes available, students on the waitlist will be offered admission in the order listed.

 The Waitlist, as of the lottery date, will be posted on the school’s website. Applications received after the application deadline will be on the waitlist but will not be posted on the website.

 If your child is not selected in the lottery, we hope you will continue to apply to our schools in the future school years.

What are the Lottery Preferences?

Sibling Preference

 An applicant who has a sibling currently attending an Uplift School must still apply to the school.

 The applying child will receive preference in the lottery due to the enrolled sibling, but is not guaranteed admittance.

 The preference will only apply to the same school the sibling attends.  The sibling status will be verified, prior to the lottery, via school records.

Zip code Preference

 The following zip codes surrounding each school receive preference in the lottery.

 Anyone within the geographical boundaries may apply, but those within the zip codes listed below will receive preference for that Uplift School.

Si no
