TODOS SON ENVIADOS

Cincuenta días después del Domingo de Pascua, celebramos el

cumplimiento de todas las promesas de Dios en el Domingo de

Pentecostés, una celebración a la que muchas veces se ha llamado el

cumpleaños de la Iglesia. Se nos recuerda otra vez más que los

cristianos hemos recibido el Espíritu Santo, no para beneficio personal

sino para permitirnos seguir nuestra vocación cristiana.

El eje de las lecturas para Pentecostés es el relato en los Hechos de

los Apóstoles, cuando el Espíritu Santo es enviado a los discípulos.

Las demás lecturas para este domingo nos ayudan a comprender qué

significa vivir nuestra vocación cristiana. La carta del apóstol san

Pablo nos muestra los dones y frutos que el Espíritu Santo nos

concede. El Evangelio según san Juan nos recuerda que Jesús ha

enviado a todos sus discípulos para que compartan su perdón y paz,

por el poder del Espíritu Santo.

Fifty days after Easter Sunday we celebrate the fulfillment of all

God’s promises in the feast of Pentecost, a feast that has sometimes

been called the birthday of the church. One last time we are reminded

that we Christians have received the Holy Spirit, not for our own

benefit, but to enable us to follow our Christian vocation.

The centerpiece of the scriptures for Pentecost is the account in

Acts of the Apostles of the sending of the Holy Spirit to the disciples.

The other readings for this Sunday help us to understand what it means

to live out our Christian vocation. Paul’s letter shows us the gifts and

fruits that the Holy Spirit gives to us. John’s Gospel reminds us that

Jesus has sent all his disciples to share his forgiveness and peace,

through the power of the Holy Spirit.

“Go into the whole world and proclaim the

gospel to every creature.” –Mark 16:15 Three basic calls of our faith are the Eucharist, care for the poor, and evangelization. As we seek and nurture a personal relationship with Christ, we experience joy in the peace and knowledge

that God will care for us. We want to share that joy with others. As vines

connected to the branch, our life source who is Jesus Christ, we have a mission to help connect others to Jesus. Through the Eucharist, Christ feeds and nourishes us not only for ourselves but also that we have the strength to go forth and bear fruit. The fruit that God wants us to bear is new disciples for him, connecting others to him through their relationship with us. We have this power in us. We have this call from the Lord.

Many have responded generously to Jesus' call as catechists and helpers to evangelize and to share the Good News of God’s great love with the children and youth of Sacred Heart Parish. If you like to join them and share the ministry of catechesis, please call the office at 772-8230. There will be a meeting at the parish center on Wednesday, May 23 at 5 p.m. (English) and at 6:30 p.m. (Spanish). All new and old catechists are required to attend this meeting which will prepare all to meet the safety requirements to serve as volunteers in the coming year.

UNA INVITACION A COMPARTIR LA BUENA NOTICIA! "Vayan por todo el mundo y predicad el Evangelio a cada criatura." – Marcos 16:15 Nuestra fe nos llama a la Eucaristía, para cuidar de los pobres y a la

evangelización. Como buscar y cultivar una relación personal con Cristo, experimentamos gozo en la paz y el conocimiento que Dios cuidará de nosotros. Es natural entonces quiere compartir esa alegría con los demás. Como una vida conectado a la rama, nuestra fuente de vida es Jesucristo. Tenemos una misión para ayudar a conectar a otros a Jesús. A través de la Eucaristía, Cristo alimenta y nos nutre no sólo para nosotros mismos, sino que tenemos la fuerza para salir y dar sus frutos. El fruto que Dios quiere dar es nuevos discípulos para él, otros conectar a él a través de su relación con nosotros. Tenemos este poder en nosotros. Tenemos este llamado del Señor.

Como catequistas y ayudantes han respondido generosamente a este llamado para evangelizar y para compartir la buena noticia del gran amor de Dios con los niños y jóvenes en la parroquia Sagrado Corazón. Si quieres servir como una catequista por favor llamen al oficina 772-8230. Vamos a tener una junta para preparos en la seguridad. Invitamos todos los catequistas para participar en este junta será miércoles a las 5 pm en Ingles y a las 6:30 pm en español en el centro parroquial.

Aprovecho esta oportunidad para decir "MUCHAS GRACIAS" a los empleados y voluntarios de la Parroquia del Sagrado Corazón y de la escuela a los feligreses y padres por las maravillosas celebraciones de "despedida" que ustedes celebraron en mí honor. Un capítulo de mi vida ha llegado a su fin y uno nuevo está comenzando. Siempre podré mirar hacia atrás con amor, alegría y orgullo en mis 32 años trabajando en la parroquia. Conocí a muchas personas

maravillosas. No solo trabaje por ustedes como administrador de las finanzas, también pude ministrarle en canciones... para sus bodas, bautizos, funerales, Primeras Comuniones y Confirmaciones, cualquier ocasión especial que usted me pidiera que compartiera con ustedes. Le pedí guía a Dios (y al Padre Mike) cuando trataba de decidir si retirarme o no (me quedo un año más) pero sé que aunque extrañaré mi "hogar lejos del hogar" tomé la decisión correcta. Siempre tendré recuerdos y tus tarjetas y regalos... de nuevo, gracias. Recen por mí mientras hago tiempo para los muchos retos que tengo por delante. ¡Continuaré orando por ustedes y por el Sagrado Corazón y llámenme si desean que yo cante para sus celebraciones especiales! May I take this opportunity to say “THANK YOU” – to the staff and volunteers of Sacred Heart Parish and School and the parishioners and parents for the wonderful “farewell” celebrations you held for me. One chapter of my life has come to an end and a new one is beginning. I will always be able to look back with love, joy and pride on my 32 years working at Sacred Heart. I came to know many wonderful people. Not only was I able to work for you as an

administrator of the finances, I was also able to minister to you in song … for your weddings, baptisms, funerals, First Communions and Confirmations, whatever special occasion came along that you asked me to share with you. I asked God (and Fr. Mike) for guidance when trying to decide whether or not to retire (or stay another year) but I know that even though I will miss my “home away from home” I made the right decision. I will always have memories and your cards and gifts … again Thank You. Pray for me as I make time for the many new challenges ahead of me. I will continue to pray for you and Sacred Heart and you can still call me to sing for your special celebrations! God Bless. Arlala
