Mark writes: “Jesus, looking at the man, loved him.” Jesus then tells him to go and sell all of his possessions and give the money to the poor. Then, he would be free to follow Jesus. When the young man realized what Jesus was asking of him, Mark writes: “At Jesus’ statement, the man’s face fell, and he went away sad for he had many possessions.” Maybe the young man looked sad because he knew it would be hard to do what Jesus asked, but we don’t know if he did get rid of his “stuff” and return later, becoming a faithful follower. Jesus loved him whatever his decision was. But what do you think he did? Ask yourself: What would I do? How do you respond? Because, after all, Jesus looks at us with great love and invites us to follow him every day. And He doesn’t stop loving us, no matter what our answer might be. What’s your answer today?. SATURDAY • SÁBADO 3:30 PM - 4:15 PM SH. 28° DOMINGO DE TIEMPO ORDINARIO En el Evangelio de hoy, escuchamos la historia del joven rico que vino a Jesús y le preguntó: "¿Qué debo hacer para heredar la vida eterna?" J e s ú s le re c u e r da l o s mandamientos, que el joven dice que ha observado desde que era joven. Marcos escribe: "Jesús, mirando al hombre, lo amó." Jesús entonces le dice que vaya y venda todas sus posesiones y dé el dinero a los pobres. Entonces, él sería libre de seguir a Jesús. Cuando el joven se dio cuenta de lo que Jesús le estaba pidiendo, Marcos escribe: "Al oír las palabras de Jesús, el rostro del hombre se entristeció, y se fue triste porque tenía muchos bienes.". Tal vez el joven parecía triste porque sabía que sería difícil hacer lo que Jesús le pidió, pero no sabemos si se deshizo de sus "cosas" y regresó más tarde, convirtiéndose en un fiel seguidor.
