Misión La Divina Providencia

7913 Munn St. Houston, 77029 713-360-7173 Misa dominical en español:

9:00 am y 2:00 pm 6:30 pm los viernes

On this Feast of Corpus Christi we glory in our Lord's loving presence in the Eucharist. He constantly brings us together, makes us one body, and feeds us with the only food that can truly save us: His Body and Blood!

Let us give thanks that Jesus assured that this would continue through his ordained priests.

While we are on the topic of ordained priests, let us congratulate Fr. Rich Wilson who celebrates the 9am Spanish Mass at La Divina Providencia and the 11am Mass at Resurrection. Let us continue to pray for him that his first year of priesthood may be a time of blessing, joy, and excitement. Also, thank you for your gifts, kind words, and prayers on the occasion of the 7th

anniversary of my ordination. In Christ,

Fr. Christopher Plant

Padre Christopher Plant

OR

Evening group meets on Thursdays beginning June 11 at 6pm in the church.

The Psalms are at the heart of the Bible. They help us deepen our prayer in every situation of our lives because they are the heartfelt prayers of other people like us and God’s reassuring response. No matter what happens, He is always beside us to strengthen us to go on. Christ Himself and His mother Mary prayed the Psalms as part of their daily life.

Each session lasts about 90 minutes with a video and discussion questions. Call Susan Kirksey for

information: 713-675-5333 or skirksey@rcchouston.org.

Healing Mass

I will recount the steadfast love of the LORD, the praises of the LORD, according to all that the LORD has granted us, and the great goodness to the house of Israel which He has granted them according to His mercy, according to the abundance of His steadfast love. Isaiah 63:7 Father will do Anointing of the Sick during Mass for those that are seriously ill and pray with other people after Mass. Sometimes when he lays his hands on someone’s head to pray, they relax so much that they “rest in the Spirit.” They might sit or lay on the ground. It is nothing to be concerned about. God uses countless ways to heal and draw us closer to Him. Sometimes God helps us to rest in Him in order to be more open to His working in us. But He also works just as powerfully in people that don’t have this happen. We might experience something similar in our own prayer life when we feel a sense of the Spirit’s presence reassuring us or filling us with peace. God works most often in the simple ordinary daily happenings of our lives; we just have to slow down enough to be aware of them.

This past Saturday, many of our children participated in the 2nd Annual Mission World Cup Soccer Tournament. The teams competed against each other for the

tournament championship, eventually won by the Yellow team. It was filled with soccer, food, movies, and a reflection on the virtue of

resourcefulness. The greatest victory was the growth in virtue for all the participants, young and old!

The tournament was sponsored by Regnum Christi and was only possible through the many high school volunteers from throughout the Archdiocese taking time to give to our children. As an annual event, we at Resurrection look forward to next year!
