La Diócesis de Austin y la Federación Diocesana de Guadalupanas han iniciado una Imagen Peregrina de Nuestra Señora de Guada- lupe. Esta imagen fue bendecida y encargada por el obispo Joe S.
Vásquez. Esta imagen va a viajar por toda la diócesis en parroquias que quieran ser anfitrión de la imagen durante un período de tiempo.

Pilgrim Image of Our Lady of Guadalupe to be housed here at San Jose Parish The Diocese of Austin and the Diocesan Federation of Guadalupanas has initiated a Pilgrim Image of Our Lady of Guadalupe. This image was blessed and commissioned by Bishop Joe S. Vasquez. This image will be traveling throughout the diocese in which parishes may request to host the image for a period of time. Our parish of San Jose has been selected to house the image whenever the image is not on pilgrimage within the diocese. The image will be placed in the foyer area of the main church.

How to Become EIM Compliant: New Applicant We are all Called to Protect.
REQUIRED steps to complete the EIM process for all new ap- plicants:
1. Submit (one time only) an EIM Application for Ministry prior to volunteering; or for new employees, within the first week of employment (a condition of continued employment). Sub- mitting the EIM application (available online and in a paper version) permits the Diocese of Austin to run a background check and also creates an account for EIM administrators to record your workshop history. All sections of the application must be completed in order to submit it; incomplete applica- tions are deleted out of the database periodically.

2. Attend a three-hour EIM Basic Workshop (within 60 days of application submission) that teaches participants about boundaries, warning signs, appropriate interactions with minors and vulnerable adults, how to respond to incidents and reviews diocesan EIM policies. [Note: New Applicants who have verification of previous workshop attendance in a different diocese may submit that verification to the EIM Of- fice for review. This previous training may be able to serve as applicant’s “Basic”; they then need to attend a Refresher workshop to review diocesan policies and procedures and sign the Code of Ethics form.

3. You should check your own EIM account periodically to view the status of your application and verify that your workshop date has been recorded, or contact your parish/school office for assistance. You will not be contacted by the EIM Office unless there is an issue with your application or background check.
How to report an incident of concern
The Diocese of Austin is committed to preventing harm from happening to any of our children or vulnerable adults. If you are aware of sexual or physical abuse and/or neglect of a child or vulnerable adult, state law requires you to report that information to local law enforcement or the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services at (800) 252-5400 or www.
dfps.state.tx.us. Additionally, if the suspected abuse is by clergy or an employee or volunteer of any diocesan parish, school or agency, a Notice of Concern should be submitted to the diocesan Ethics and Integrity in Ministry Office at (512) 949-2400. The Notice of Concern can be found at www.austindiocese.org (click on the link HOW TO REPORT ABUSE). Reports may be made anonymously.

These enrollments make excellent gifts for many occasions. Proceeds from these donations are used to edu- cate Seminarians for the Diocese. The Fund is also used to make low interest loans to parishes for their building programs. This has been a project of the Austin Diocesan Council of Catholic Women since 1948.

Infertility & Miscarriage Support: Sarah’s Hope
& Abraham’s Promise is a spiritual support program for couples struggling with infertility and miscar- riage. Based on Catholic teaching, we combine the wisdom of modern medicine with the healing power of the Catholic Church. We offer a women’s Bible study support group, couples healing retreats and prayer services throughout the year.
Adoption Support: Destined: Families Built by Love is a spiritual support program and monthly playgroup for adoptive families. Anyone who has built their family through the miracle of adoption is invited to meet with other families to share the joys and challenges of adoption and fostering. The playgroup meets once a month in different areas of Austin.
