ANGUAGEKnowledge of foreign languages from the legal point of view and of the legal systems in France, the United Kingdom and Spain is of particular interest for those involved in law in any capacity in Spain, and for judges and senior judges in particular.
The aim of these courses is to promote the European integration process by contributing to building an authentic European judicial area, multiplying training opportunities for European judges and senior judges upon mutually knowing how different European judicial systems are organised and operate and upon learning the European languages:
1) Commence and improve knowledge in specific features of the legal and judicial systems in Spain, France and United Kingdom. 2) Facilitate comparative studies of the main institutions in the European legal tradition and the legal and judicial systems in each country.
3) Supply participants to the international judicial cooperation course with advanced knowledge of cooperation instruments in Europe. 4) Boost acquisition of oral and written communication skills in the language of study.
5) Commence or increase the knowledge of legal language (oral and written) addressing several aspects of this specialised language. 6) Provide students with interpretation keys necessary to understand documents and/or proceedings in other European legal and judicial systems.

Date: 10th to 14th May 2010 in Aguilas.
Timetable. Work sessions will take place in the morning and in
the evening, from 9.30 a.m. to 2.00 p.m., with a 30-minute break from 11.30 a.m. to 12.00 p.m., and from 5.00 p.m. to 7.30 p.m. Arrival is expected on 9th May in the evening and departure on 15th in the morning.
Workshops. Practical and theoretical training will be combined
by carrying out practical exercises, such as presenting arguments during the course of proceedings and understanding of the same, simulations of trials based on the Spanish, French and British systems. The participants will be enriched by this exposure to different perspectives which will give them an opportunity to reflect on the legal system in their country of origin.
