You are ever a part of our lives

all the good you have shared

will live on in our lives”

All Souls November Happenings

November is traditionally associated in the Catholic Church with remembrance of the dead. Memories can remember many happenings, the good, hope and love that a person shared, that lives on in our hearts and lives. Liturgical remembrances, however, is not just about looking back to the past but also looking forward to the future in prayer, trust and hope. Just as our loved one shared in Christ’s death in baptism, we believe that he or she will share in Christ’s resur-rection and enjoy eternal life in God’s presence. The tradition of recalling and interceding for the dead is a long-established practice in the Catholic Church. There is something poignant and personal about writing down the names of our deceased loved ones and asking the community to remember them in prayer.

All Souls Envelopes

Please write the names of those you want to remem-ber in prayer, return the envelope in the collection basket, or the Cathedral Office. The envelopes will be place on the altar during the month of November

The Book of Remembrance

You are invited to write the names of those you want remembered in prayer, relatives, neighbors and friends who have died. The Book of

Remem-brance is given a place of honor, at our front altar,

during the month of November as a reminder to the community to pray for those who have died.

The Mass of Remembrance,

Sunday, November 18th at 11:30 Mass, we remem-ber all who have been buried from the Cathedral of the Holy Cross this past year. During this Mass, we will read the names of those who had a Mass of Christian Burial here at the Cathedral since Novem-ber 1, 2017 to All Saints Day NovemNovem-ber 1, 2018, this year. Also, we will light a special candle in their

name. Families are invited to take this remem-brance candle home with them after Mass.
