NATIONAL RENEWABLE ENERGY CENTRE
What is EERA?
The European Energy Research Alliance was established in 2008 to support the
SET-plan.
Mission: aims to accelerate the development and deployment of cost-effective low
carbon technologies
Cooperation of Energy Research Organisations
In principle open to all research organisations
Activities based on participants own resources, but
•
Complemented by competitive funding from the
European Commission (FP7)
• Long-term strategy, Agreed Division of Tasks and Responsibilities
•
EERA virtual teams working on one topic (specialization)
More than 200 participating organisations
Collaborating in 15 EERA Joint Programmes
Ambition/vision of the Joint Programme
The EERA vision for the joint programme on wind
energy is
– to establish the scientific–technical medium to long term research strategy to support the Technology Roadmap’s activities on wind energy and
– on basis of this, to perform the necessary scientific research.
The vision calls for all the EERA institutions and
associated partners
– to align their research in wind energy topics which influence the use and deployment of wind energy and
– perform the research coordinated and structured in medium to long-term research programmes with shared research facilities.
The overall objective is
– to produce scientific results on the highest and recognized international level to be used by industry, communities, member states and the international scientific community.

Vision
JP on Wind Energy
The EERA joint programme on wind energy
accelerates the realization of the SET-plan goals,
provides the strategic leadership for the scientific–
technical medium to long term research to support
the EII and the Technology Roadmap’s activities on
wind energy and provides added value through:
• Strategic leadership of the underpinning research
• Joint prioritisation of research tasks and infrastructure • Alignment of European and national research efforts
• Execution of coordinated and structured research in medium to long-term programmes
• Coordination with industry, and
SET-Plan structure

Key challenge 'secure, clean and efficient energy‘
• Objective: to make the transition to a reliable, sustainable and competitive energy system, in the face of
increasingly scarce resources, increasing energy needs and climate change.
• Broad lines of activities: (1) Reducing energy consumption and carbon footprint by smart and sustainable use;
(2) Low-cost, low-carbon electricity supply; (3) Alternative fuels and mobile energy sources; (4) A single, smart European electricity grid; (5) New knowledge and technologies; (6) Robust decision making and public engagement; (7) Market uptake of energy innovation.
Implementation principles embedded in Horizon 2020 proposal
– Support the implementation of the SET-Plan:
• SET-Plan roadmaps, implementation plans and governance
structure
– Partnering with European stakeholders important to share resources and implement jointly:
• Existing EIIs may be turned into formalised PPP (case by
case basis)
• Support may be given, including with MSs, to alliances of

Programa EERA Wind
El programa comprende los siguientes sub-programas:
• Condiciones de Viento. Coordinado por Risø DTU, Dinamarca. • Aerodinámica. Coordinado por ECN, Holanda.
• Eólica Marina. Coordinado por SINTEF, Noruega.
• Integración en Red. Coordinado por FhG IWES, Alemania. • Centros de Ensayo. Coordinado por CENER, España.
El objetivo general de
IRPWIND

3. Diseño de Plantas Eólicas Marinas
