OPERATING ROOMSFrom the technological standpoint the sur-gical unit is the core of healthcare facilities. The technological devices currently utilised are so sophisticated that permit an integrat-ed management of all the equipment and data needed by the surgical team during their work.
The heavy workload to which the person-nel is subjected calls for comfortable and modern environments, designed to allow surgeons and the entire team to work with the maximum effectiveness and to ensure the appropriate protection for the patient. The instruments, utility networks, and fur-niture must create an environment that, although complex, is also uniform and inte-grated where each function can be control-led and guaranteed and where operating and maintenance tasks can be expedited easily and effectively.
Inside Operating Rooms the panels mainly used have the following finishing: Antibac-terial Asepsi Solid Mineral Surface®, Glass, Stainless Steel or Painted Stainless Steel.
To date SHD Italia has manufactured and in-stalled more than 1000 Prefabricated Surgi-cal Units in Italy and abroad, several of which have been in service for almost 30 years al-though they still mantain their original aes-thetic and functional qualities.
QUIRÓFANOS
Desde el punto de vista tecnológico, el bloque quirúrgico es el punto focal de las estructuras sanitarias.
Los dispositivos utilizados actualmente son tan sofisticados que permiten una gestión in-tegral de los equipos y de todos los datos que los equipos quirúrgicos necesitan durante una intervención quirúrgica.
Los veloces ritmos a los cuales el personal tie-ne que someterse requieren un conjunto de ambientes cómodos y modernos, concebidos para permitir a los cirujanos y al equipo poder operar con la máxima funcionalidad y una pro-tección adecuada del paciente.
La instrumentación, el conjunto de las instala-ciones y los mobiliarios deben crear un espa-cio que, aunque complejo, sea tan uniforme como integrado, donde cada función pueda ser controlada y garantizada, donde la gestión de las operaciones y del mantenimiento sea sencilla y eficaz.
Dentro de los quirófanos, los paneles que ma-yormente utilizamos, tienen un acabado rea-lizado en: Antibacteriano Asepsi Solid Mineral Surface®, Vidrio, Acero Inoxidable o Acero Inoxidable Barnizado.
Actualmente, SHD Italia ya ha producido e ins-talado, en Italia y en el exterior, más de 1000 Quirófanos Prefabricados, en funcionamiento desde hace casi 30 años y que mantienen in-tactas en el tiempo las características estéticas y funcionales originales.

In the other areas of the Surgical Unit the most used panels are in Stratified HPL lami-nate, easily cleanable, shockproof, abrasion resistant and with cost savings.

Intensive Care Units
The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is an hospital department where the patient receives in-tensive, monitored and continuous thera-pies.
Generally it is an open space for the recovery of several patients, constantly supervised by the personnel of the department in order to guarantee a timely intervention in case of necessity.
There are many typologies of intensive cares, which are divided for pathology and age, the main ones are:
- post-anesthesia care unit; - burns intensive care unit;
- neonatal and pediatric intensive care unit; - psychiatric intensive care unit;
- coronary intensive care unit.
Las Unidades de Cuidados Intensivos (UCI) son departamentos hospitalarios donde los pacien-tes reciben terapias intensivas, supervisadas y continuas.
Por lo general es un espacio abierto para la hos-pitalización de varios pacientes, monitorizados constantemente por el personal presente en el departamento con el fin de garantizar una inter-vención inmediata en caso de necesidad. Existen muchas tipologías de cuidados intensi-vos divididas por patologías o grupos de edad, las principales son:
- unidad de cuidados postoperatorios;
- unidad de cuidados intensivos para quemados; - unidad de cuidados intensivos neonatal y
pe-diátrico;
- unidad de cuidados intensivos psiquiátricos; - unidad de cuidados intensivos coronaria.
Unidades de Cuidados Intensivos
The complex procedures, aimed at the restore and sup-port of the vital functions seriously damaged, need a high-ly functional environment: access on 4 sides of the bed, an area for the monitoring and therapy equipment, glass surfaces which allow an easy observation of patients by the nurses, even if there are separate boxes.
SHD Italia’s prefabricated modular systems meet ade-quately the requirements and fundamental characteristics for all Intensive Care Units.
Los complejos procedimientos, destinados a restablecer y man-tener las funciones vitales seriamente comprometidas, requie-ren un ambiente altamente funcional: la garantía de acceso a los cuatro lados de la cama, el espacio para los equipos de mo-nitorización y de terapia, superficies vidriadas que permitan un fácil control de los pacientes por parte del personal de enferme-ría, incluido si se opta por una solución con boxes separados. Los sistemas modulares prefabricados de SHD Italia responden adecuadamente a las necesidades y requisitos fundamentales de los Departamentos de Cuidados Intensivos de cualquier tipo.
Dialysis Units
Nephrology Units, which care about kid-ney illnesses, include specific centers with single stations where patients are submit-ted to dialysis.
The dialysis, better known as hemodialysis, is a therapy given to people with reduced or absent kidney functionalities, which is the terminal stage of many illnesses that damage the kidney and can be stopped only with an organ transplant.
The dialysis, which generally lasts 4 hours and has to be repeated thrice a week, consists of removing toxic substances ac-cumulated in the blood using an external filter (dialyzer) placed in an equipment called “artificial kidney”.
Las Unidades de Nefrología, que se ocu-pan de enfermedades renales, incluyen centros equipados con emplazamientos individuales en los que los pacientes se so-meten a diálisis.
La diálisis, mayormente conocida como hemodiálisis, es un tratamiento adminis-trado a las personas con reducida o au-sente funcionalidad renal, condición que representa el último estadio de muchas enfermedades que afectan al riñón y que no puede ser interrumpida, excepto que con el trasplante del órgano en cuestión. La diálisis, que dura en término medio unas 4 horas y que debe ser repetida 3 ve-ces a la semana, consiste en eliminar las sustancias tóxicas acumuladas en la sangre a través del uso de un filtro externo (diali-zador) colocado en una maquinaria llama-da “ riñón artificial “.

Services Department
The Central Sterile Services Department (CSSD) plays an essential role in the activity of the Surgical Units for the control and reduction of infections.
This unit is composed of an area dedicated to the reception, wash and packaging of mate-rials, an area for the sterilization and another one for the storage and distribution of steri-lized materials.
The Central Sterile Services Department is di-vided into:
- Operative zone where uniforms and instru-ment kits are controlled, packed and stored; - Accessory zone where the authorized
per-sonnel transits with trolleys for the carriage of materials.
La Central de Esterilización (CSSD) juega un papel clave en la actividad del Bloque Quirúr-gico para el control y la reducción de las infec-ciones.
Este departamento está constituido por un área destinada a la recepción, el lavado y em-paquetado de los materiales, otra área a la pro-pia esterilización y, por último, otra al almace-namiento y a la distribución de los materiales esterilizados.
La Central de Esterilización se divide en: - áreas Operativas donde se empaquetan y
al-macenan los kit de instrumentos y de ropas; - áreas Accesorias donde el personal
autoriza-do circula para el transporte de los materiales en los carros medicinales.

The aim of this important hospital depart-ment is to grant high levels of microbio-logical security by leveling the ways of preparation of devices and by keeping them in a disinfected condition until their use.
SHD Italia’s prefabricated modular sys-tems, both with stainless steel panels and other finishing ones, meet adequately the fundamental requirements of all Central Sterile Services Departments.
El objetivo de este importante departa-mento hospitalario, es asegurar altos nive-les de seguridad microbiológica mediante la estandarización del método de prepara-ción de los dispositivos y el mantenimien-to de los mismos en condiciones de este-rilidad hasta su utilización.
