Clinical and Translational Science Awards (CTSA)
● Launched in 2006, it now includes 46 medical research institutions in 26 states.
● The program’s goals are:
– Eliminate growing barriers between clinical and basic research, to address the increasing complexities
involved in conducting clinical research
– Help institutions nationwide create an academic home for clinical and translational science.

Translational Informatics for Global Health.
HIBA-OHSU.
● Objetivos
– Ampliar la colaboración existente en IM con el objetivo principal de ampliar la capacidad de investigación clínica HIBA en las
enfermedades cardiovasculares crónicas a través de clinical translational research informatics (CTRI)
– Brindar capacitación para investigadores clínicos y su personal en informática biomédica (Clinical Research informatics).
– Proporcionar formación a largo plazo para los futuros líderes en el ámbito académico de informática biomédica en OHSU.
– Establecer HIBA como centro de excelencia internacional en informática médica.
– Desarrollar una maestría en informática biomédica entre HIBA y OHSU.

Resultados
● Mejora de la habilidad y la capacidad para llevar a cabo CTRI en HIBA con el fin de mejorar la gestión de

● Brindar nuevas oportunidades de investigación basadas en IM para la investigación clínica en América Latina.
