75th Anniversary
of Entrance to the
Religious Life
We, the Sister Servants of the Blessed Sacrament are joyfully celebrating Sr. Maria Aurora Gonzalez’ 75th Anniversary of Entrance with a Eucharistic Celebration on May 30, 2009 at 11:00am. Sister has dedicated her life to teaching to love the Eucharistic and academics. She began her ministry inCalexico, California as a newly professed Sister, serving there for 37 consecutive years as teacher and later principal of Our Lady of Guadalupe Academy K-12. She founded a commu-nity at St. Sebastian Parish in West Los Angeles while being principal of the Parish School. In this capacity, she also ministered in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary School, Sun Valley, as well as St. Peter School, Sacramento. In El Segundo, at St. Anthony Parish, she was the Director of Religious
Education and now she is back among us. We give thanks to God for her presence with us and for the graces we have received through her ministry.
Sister Maria Aurora wishing to share her calling with you wrote the following: “The Lord chose me from the moment of my birth on August 8, 1919 to be His own. The doctor said I would certainly died, so I was baptized the same day and confirmed the following day by the Bishop who had come to our parish. AT the age of 4 I was allowed to make my First Holy Communion because I would sob and cry when I saw my receiving and I could not do so. The priest then took the time to test me to see if I really knew what communion was and I passed the test. At the age of 14 I entered the
Religious Life in 1934 with the Sisters Servants of the Blessed Sacrament. I made my Religious Profession when I turned 16 and now I come again to thank the Lord, form the bottom of my heart, for choosing me to be His own for seventy-five years as I celebrate my “Diamond Jubilee in His Service.”
For all these blessings we invite you to join us in proclaiming: “Blessed be God!”
MASS CARDS
When a person is sick, in need of a prayer, or when grief strikes hard in the friend’s family with the death of a loved one, one of the best way to offer support and soothe the
of the Scalabrinian Missionaries. Stop by the parish office and ask for a Mass Card. The secretary will further explain the advantages of such love offering.
MOTHER’S DAY MASS CARDS
Each year we give recognition to
all our mothers, and the month of
May is an appropriate time to greet
them for all the help and sacrifice
they have given us. Think about
giving your mom a bouquet of
prayers and masses for her
inten-tions. Request a card at the
parish office, write the name of your mom,
living or deceased, and your offering in the
attached envelope. All Masses on Mother’s
Day, May 10 will be dedicated to the
intentions of the cards and their donors.

MASS INTENTIONS
We place in the Bulletin the intentions of each Mass
for the whole week. Never the less, there are many
people, who come just as the Mass is about to start
and ask the celebrant to mention their personal
intention for that Mass. This is not the proper
approach to the case. People wishing to request a
Mass intention, should come personally to the parish
office at least three weeks or one month in advance
of their intended date, so that the intention be duly
registered in the parish Mass Book and included in
the parish Bulletin.
THE INDEPENDENT ADOPTION CENTER

75th Aniversario de
Entrada a la vida
Religiosa
