 外国人留学生への日本語等に関する教育の実施や、就学上・生活上の指導助言、交換留学の推進などを通じて国際的に活躍可 能な人材を育成しています。

GEC aims to foster individuals who can take active roles in the international arena. GEC also works on internationalization strategies and coordination to promote Shinshu University’ s internationalization in a unified way.

Main Responsibilities

主な業務

 日本語を全く勉強したことがない学生、勉強はしてきたけれどもまだ大学での授業・研究に支障がある学生を対象とした、約４ヶ月間 の集中日本語教育です。正規生の卒業単位にはなりませんが、予備教育中の研究留学生や交換留学生が多く受講しています。

 コースの始めに行われるプレースメントテストの結果により、A、B、Cクラス（日本語レベル初級、初中級、中級）にレベル分けします。

Shinshu University offers 4-month intensive courses designed for students who have no experience in learning Japanese, as well as courses for experienced learners who are having difficulties in their regular university classes or research work. As these are noncredit courses for regular students, most of the students who take these courses are research students in their preparatory education period or exchange students from Shinshu University’ s partner universities.

 Students will be divided into A, B, C class (elementary, upper-elementary, and intermediate) according to the results of placement tests given at the beginning of the course.

信州大学交換留学生 プログラム

Many exchange students from our partner universities participate in the “Shinshu University Exchange Students Program” , which GEC has been operating since 2007. (Please refer to P.19 for a list of partner universities.)

Exchange students in this program are registered as GEC students and are able to take Japanese courses offered by GEC or regular courses offered by other faculties. (Students may be restricted from enrolling in some courses due to language proficiency requirements or depending on the study area.) Selection will be carried out considering the results shown in the table below.

 外国人であって、私費により本学で勉学しようとする方には、一般の入試方法とは別に特別な入試を行います^（１）。入試の詳細について は6月下旬発行の入学者選抜要項、願書を請求される方は11月発行の募集要項をお取り寄せください。請求方法は、12ページをご覧くださ い。

 なお、各学部の学科等については、５、６ページをご参照ください。

 〈注〉（１）外国人であっても、日本の高等学校を卒業した方又は卒業見込みの方は、一般志願者と同様の扱いになり、この入試には該当しませんので特に注意してください。

 信州大学と大学間交流協定・学部間交流協定を締結している大学の卒業者で、信州大学大学院への入学を目指すために研究 生として入学することを希望する方については、大学院入学前１年以内の授業料・検定料・入学料を不徴収とします。（大学間・学部 間協定校の一覧はP.19に掲載されています。）

 詳細については、受入れを希望する研究科にお問い合わせください。なお、申請にあたっては、通常の研究生としての出願書類一 式に加え、以下の書類を提出する必要があります。

○協定校の責任者による推薦書

○受入れる研究科等の指導教員の承諾書

If a student who has graduated from our partner university wishes to pursue their postgraduate study at Shinshu University, they can prepare for it as a research student without examination, entrance, and tuition fees, for up to one year. (Academic exchange agreements between universities or faculties are listed on P.19)

For further information, please contact the Academic Affairs Office in charge of the division you wish to enter. To apply, please submit the following documents in addition to the set of application documents for normal research students.

○ Recommendation form filled out by an authorized person at the applicant’ s home university ○ Acceptance form signed by the applicant’ s scheduled academic advisor at Shinshu University

※外国人の方で日本国外にいる場合は、 ビザ申請等で入学希望日前に来日できない可能性もありますので、 なるべく余裕を持って、 入学希望日の3ヶ月  以上前に出願してください。
