Posadas
Many people are asking about the tradition of the posadas in Our Lady of Mount Carmel this year. Unfortunately, this year 2020, the year of the pandemic, we are not able to congregate together and have parties as a community. We will not have the posadas this year. I will advise you to try to pray together
as a family, or in a small group in homes together, or by zoom, to stay safe through this novena until we meet together for Christmas Masses.

Mucha gente pregunta por la tradición de las posadas en Nuestra Señora del Monte Carmelo. Desafortunadamente, este año 2020, el año de la pandemia, no podemos congregarnos y celebrar fiestas como comunidad. No tendremos posadas este año. Les aconsejaría que traten de orar como familia, en un grupo pequeño, en casa juntos, o haciendo zoom, para mantenerse a salvo a través de esta novena hasta que nos reunamos para las misas de Navidad.

Pope Francis proclaims “Year of St Joseph”
In the Apostolic Letter “Patris corde” (“With a Father’s Heart”), Pope Francis recalls the 150th anniversary of the declaration of Saint Joseph as Patron of the Universal Church. To mark the occasion, the Holy Father has proclaimed a “Year of Saint Joseph” from December 8, 2020, to December 8, 2021. The Holy Father is inviting us to contemplate the amazing presence of the figure of St Joseph, the father of Jesus. Many
times we don’t value his presence either in the bible or in our spiritual life but he is an essential piece of our salvation, sharing with Mary the parenting of Jesus. How much love he should have through
the humanity of Jesus. Joseph was listening to the messages of God through silent moments and dreams. I would like for this community to put special attention to this amazing man who is the father of Jesus and at the same time, the father of all Christians. We have a special altar for him in our church that is dedicated to him. El Papa Francisco proclama “Año de San José”
En la carta apostólica "Patris corde" ("Con corazón de padre"), el Papa Francisco recuerda el 150 aniversario de la declaración de San José como Patrono de la Iglesia Universal. Con motivo de la ocasión, el Santo Padre ha proclamado el “Año de San José” del 8 de diciembre de 2020 al 8 de diciembre de 2021. El Santo Padre nos invita a contemplar la asombrosa presencia de la figura de San José, padre de Jesús. Muchas veces no valoramos su presencia ni en la Biblia ni en nuestra vida espiritual pero es una pieza esencial de nuestra salvación, compartiendo con María la ser padres de Jesús. Cuánto amor debería tener por la humanidad de Jesús. José escuchaba los mensajes de Dios a través de momentos de silencio y sueños. Me gustaría que esta comunidad pusiera especial atención en este hombre asombroso que es el padre de Jesús y al mismo tiempo, el padre de todos los cristianos. Tenemos un altar especial en nuestra iglesia que está dedicado a él. Visítenlo y oren en familia durante este tiempo especial de Covid para que pueda protegernos aprovechando este año especial de gracia
