COVID PROTOCOL REMINDER: Due to the current surge of Covid cases in our area, we highly recommend that parishioners once again wear a mask or face covering when inside any of our buildings. As a reminder, facemasks and social distancing continue to be optional in most of the church building. However, in the two sections of the church closest to the Blessed Sacrament Chapel, facemasks are required. Please do not sit in these two sections without a facemask. There is signage in place by way of reminder. In addition, we ask that in
Christian charity to your neighbor, if you are feeling ill, please stay home. As per Bishop Vasquez’s May 23, 2021 Letter to the Faithful: “Although the COVID-19 dispensation is no longer in effect, the general teaching of the Church remains; that is, a serious reason excuses one from the obligation to attend Sunday Mass, even without a dispensation (CCC 2181). Anyone for whom attending Sunday Mass would pose a serious health risk (including anyone who is positive for COVID-19 or needs to isolate because of COVID-19 symptoms) is excused from the obligation to attend Sunday Mass.” We thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
RECORDATORIO DEL PROTOCOLO COVID: Debido a la actual oleada de casos de Covid en nuestra zona, recomendamos encarecidamente que los feligreses vuelvan a llevar una mascarilla o un protector facial cuando estén dentro de cualquiera de nuestros edificios. FAST AND ABSTINENCE
Ash Wednesday and Good Friday are obligatory days of fasting and abstinence for Catholics.
Fridays during Lent are obligatory days of abstinence. The norms on fasting are obligatory from age 18 until age 59. When fasting, a person is permitted to eat one full meal. Two smaller meals may also be taken, but not to equal a full meal. The norms concerning abstinence from meat are binding from age 14 onwards. If possible, the fast on Good Friday is continued until the Easter Vigil (on Holy Saturday night) as the “paschal fast“ to honor the suffering and death of the Lord Jesus, and to prepare ourselves to share more fully and to celebrate more readily His Resurrection.
AYUNO Y ABSTINENCIA
Miércoles de Ceniza y Viernes Santo son días obligatorios de ayuno y la abstinencia para los Católicos. Los viernes durante la Cuaresma son días obligatorios de abstinencia. Las normas sobre el ayuno son obligatorias desde los 18 hasta los 59 años. Cuando se ayuna, una persona puede comer una comida completa. Pueden también tomar dos comidas más pequeñas, pero no igual a una comida completa. Son vinculantes las normas relativas a la abstinencia de la carne desde los 14 años hacia adelante. FRIDAY FISH FRY
The Knights of Columbus will once again be serving fish and all the fixin’s each Friday during Lent, from 4:30-7:30 pm in the Benish Center. The price for dinner will be $12 for adults, $6 for youth, and children 2 years and younger eat free. The meal will include a serving of baked, grilled or fried fish, hushpuppies, coleslaw, fried okra, french fries, beans, dessert and a beverage. Little ones can also opt to have a slice of cheese pizza instead of fish.

Los Caballeros de Colón volverán a servir pescado y todas las guarniciones cada viernes durante la Cuaresma, de 4:30 a 7:30 pm en el Centro Benish. KC SCHOLARSHIP
Knights of Columbus, Council 7600, will be awarding educational scholarships this Spring 2022.
Students who will be 2022 high school graduates, or who are 21 years of age or younger and are attending post graduate education or training are eligible to compete for these scholarships. The
scholarships will be awarded directly to the recipients. All applications must be submitted by May 6, 2022 to be considered. Presentation of these educational awards will be announced at Mass later in May 2022 as determined by Father Luis. Please contact Timothy J.
