● Amanda presented agenda for today's meeting.
● Vanessa gave update on hiring:
1. 2nd grade ELA-S teacher hired, the 2nd grade DCIS team has been part of process.
2. Music Teacher hired, DCIS actually has a collection of instruments here, the new teacher is excited to use those.
3. There is a candidate for the Spanish position, he is currently in Madrid, Spain.
Vanessa is checking references and hoping to hire him.
4. She is doing interviews for English 5th grade teacher and math intervention, there is a meet and greet this week for the two candidates for Assistant Principle position.
● Thursday there is a SAC meeting, see Facebook page for agenda.
Activity: Language mixer. Very fun opportunity to speak the language you are less familiar with:
either English or Spanish.
Amanda asked for communication improvement feedback. A few ideas were given.
● Concerns were brought up about parents not adhering to the drop off policy and DPS safety and security needing to be called. Clarification given about the temperature and
snow policy for inside vs outside days, and the fact that DPS posts the weather updates on their website. Discussion about the fact that DPS does not have a wind policy.
March updates:
Next Tuesday: Family preparedness night with 2 different lawyers regarding immigration March 23rd: ECE -2nd grade VIP Dance, children will bring an important person in their lives.
Testing: 3rd-5th grade testing calendar sent out for state testing, begins next week. See Vanessa with questions. There will be an assembly on Friday for kids to discuss more details.
There will be attendance motivators. The testing results are not back until September/October.
Discussion about low attendance rates causes, testing details.

1. 2do grado ELA-S el profesor contratado, el 2do grado DCIS team ha sido parte del proceso.
2. Profesor de música contratado, DCIS en realidad tiene una colección de instrumentos aquí, el nuevo profesor está emocionado de usarlos.
3. Hay un candidato para la posición española, él está actualmente en Madrid, España.
Vanessa está revisando referencias y esperando contratarlo.
4. Ella está haciendo entrevistas para el profesor de 5 º grado Inglés y la intervención de matemáticas, hay una reunión y saludar esta semana para los dos candidatos para el cargo de Principio Asistente.
● Jueves hay una reunión del SAC, ver la página de Facebook para la agenda.
Actividad de mezclador de idiomas. Muy divertido oportunidad de hablar el idioma que está menos familiarizado con: Inglés o español.
Amanda pidió información sobre la mejora de la comunicación. Se dieron algunas ideas.
● Las preocupaciones se plantearon acerca de los padres que no se adhieren a la política de descenso y la seguridad y la seguridad DPS que necesitan ser llamados. Aclaración dada sobre la temperatura y la política de nieve para dentro y fuera días, y el hecho de que DPS publica las actualizaciones del tiempo en su sitio web. Discusión sobre el hecho de que DPS no tiene una política de viento.
