From the Pastor’s Desk…
Beloved Brothers and sisters;
Easter Greetings to all of you! The resurrection of the Son of God is the central mystery of our faith. It allows us to see that the love of God is generous, fruitful and ineffable that the whole creation has been blessed with the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ.
God has broken the chains of sin and
death, giving us the liberty and a dignifying place at His eternal banquet. He has given us a new life.
As we celebrate this Easter Sunday let us do it with joy and gratitude. First and foremost let us be grateful to Jesus for his gift of eternal life. Let us surround ourselves with our brothers and sisters in Jesus by coming to mass where we can sign, renovate our baptismal promises, listen to God’s word, receive His Body and Blood and proclaiming “The Lord is risen, Alleluia!”.
Afterwards let us go into the world and surround ourselves with family and friends dressed in our best Easter colors, and enjoying with them our Easter dinners, games and company. You have been given many reasons to celebrate. You have been given the promise of eternal life!
Just like Mary Magdalen let us run to see the empty sepulcher with the eyes of faith. Let us realize that poverty nor sickness, natural disasters nor world’s scandals, not even death itself nor our own personal miseries can prevail over the wish of salvation that God has for humanity. So rejoice St. Aloysius! God is with us. He is our life, our hope and our resurrection.

Queridos hermanos y hermanas;
¡Saludos de Pascua a todos! La resurrección del Hijo de Dios es el misterio central de nuestra fe. Nos permite ver que el amor de Dios es generoso, fructífero e inefable, que toda la creación ha sido bendecida con la resurrección de nuestro Señor Jesucristo.
Dios ha roto las cadenas del pecado y la muerte, dándonos la libertad y un lugar digno en Su banquete eterno. Él nos ha dado una nueva vida.
Mientras celebramos este Domingo de Pascua, hagámoslo con alegría y gratitud. En primer lugar, debemos estar agradecidos a Jesús por su regalo de la vida eterna. Debemos rodearnos con nuestros hermanos y hermanas en Jesús yendo a la misa donde podamos firmar, renovar nuestras promesas bautismales, escuchar la palabra de Dios, recibir Su Cuerpo y Sangre y proclamar "¡Ha resucitado el Señor, Aleluya!". Después, debemos ir al mundo y rodearnos con familiares y amigos vestidos con nuestros mejores colores de Pascua, y disfrutar con ellos nuestras cenas de Pascua, juegos y compañía. Le han dado muchas razones para celebrar. ¡Te han dado la promesa de la vida eterna!
Al igual que María Magdalena, corramos a ver el sepulcro vacío con los ojos de la fe. Démonos cuenta de que la pobreza y la enfermedad, los desastres naturales y los escándalos mundiales, ni siquiera la muerte misma ni nuestras propias miserias personales, pueden prevalecer sobre el deseo de salvación que Dios tiene para la humanidad. ¡Entonces regocíjate con San Luis Gonzaga! Dios está con nosotros. Él es nuestra vida, nuestra esperanza y nuestra resurrección.

Helping Families and Individuals in Need
The Food Pantry operates on Thursdays from 9am- 12pm to help those in need in a variety of ways. This help includes emergency bags of food (given out once, every 30 days), Thanksgiving, and Easter baskets for families in need. For more information please call 773-278-4808.

Baptisms
Parents, we invite you to baptize your child as soon as possible after he/she is born (about 6-8 weeks old).
1. Parents must register for the baptism at the parish office in person with the baby’s original birth certificate. At this time, they will select a day for the Christian Parenting Class in which both the parents and godparents are asked to attend. There is a fee for the class which should be paid in full on the day of registration.
2. Classes are once a month, so please plan to register about 4 weeks ahead!
3. The English Class is the 1st Wednesday of the month.
The Spanish Class is the 1st Thursday of the month.
4. Baptisms in English are celebrated on the 4th Sunday of the month at 2:00pm.
Baptisms in Spanish are celebrated on the 3rd Sunday of the month at 2:00pm.
Private Baptisms can only be scheduled by the Pastor.
5. If your child is 7 years of age or older they must register for Catechism.
Bautismos
Padres, les invitamos a bautizar sus niños lo más pronto posible después de su nacimiento (aprox. 6-8 semanas).
1. Padres deben registrarse para el bautismo en la oficina parroquial en persona y traer el acta original de nacimiento del bebé. En ese momento, escogerán el día para la Clase Cristiana de Padres en la cual se les pide que asistan tanto los padres como los padrinos. Hay una cuota para la clase la cual deberá ser pagada el día de registro.
2. Las clases son una vez por mes, favor de planear registrarse 4 semanas antes.
3. Las clases en inglés son el 1er miércoles del mes.
Las clases en español son el 1er jueves del mes.
4. Bautizos en inglés son celebrados el 4to domingo del mes a las 2:00pm.
Bautizos en español son celebrados el 3er domingo del mes a las 2:00pm.
Bautizos privados sólo pueden ser planeados por el Párroco.
5. Si su niño o niña tiene 7 años en adelante, se tendrá que registrar para el catecismo.

Parents wishing to celebrate their child’s Cotillion must be aware that no young person is allowed to celebrate their cotillion in Church unless they are confirmed FIRST. It takes at least TWO YEARS of CCD classes before a young person is confirmed.
The following are requirements to celebrate a Cotillion and/
or Sweet Sixteen at St. Aloysius:
Parents must schedule an appointment with the Pastor and present their child’s Confirmation Certificate at which time the date and time of the event will be decided. Their daughter must be present at this appointment.Quinceañeras Preparase 6 meses antes
Los padres que desean celebrar los quince años de su hija deben estar conscientes que no se permite a ninguna persona joven celebrar sus quince años en la iglesia a menos que esté confirmada PRIMERO. Se toma por lo menos DOS AÑOS de clases de catecismo antes de que se confirme a un joven.
Los siguientes son los requisitos para celebrar una Quinceañera en la Parroquia de San Luis Gonzaga:

Dear Sisters and Brothers in the Risen Lord Jesus,The news today seems to be dominated by death- dealing forces and foreclosed possibilities. This past year has brought us a plague of gun-violence, streams of helpless refugees in different parts of the world, struggles in our own nation around questions of immigration and racism, countless victims of natural disasters, and large numbers of people who are—in the words of Pope Francis— “discarded.” There seems to be scant room for hope and optimism.
Yet, we know by our own experience as believers and our common bonds of faith that this is not the full story of reality. There, indeed, is other news, the good news of our Easter faith. Christ has conquered all death and evil.
Christ is risen!
When we profess our faith in the risen Lord, we do not deny the pain and suffering at work in our world. The risen Christ himself bears his wounds of his suffering, but he is risen. He has conquered sin and death, and our victory is certain. We hold a great hope in him who leads forward. But, it does not end there, for as St. Paul tells us, all of that we celebrate in these days has taken place so that we “might live no longer for ourselves but for him who died for our sakes and was raised.”
In the Archdiocese of Chicago, our commitment to Renew My Church means that we take our Easter faith seriously to the point that it becomes the source of new energy for communities and individuals who share our faith with the world and bring it hope the world cannot take away.
May our faith in the Risen Lord be alive in our hearts, and may we share that gift widely and generously with others.

Estimados hermanas y hermanos en el Señor Jesús Resucitado,
Las noticias de hoy en día parecieran estar dominadas por fuerzas que lidian con la muerte y con posibilidades clausuradas. Este año pasado nos ha traído una plaga de violencia con armas, corrientes de refugiados indefensos en diferentes partes del mundo, luchas en nuestro propio país en torno a asuntos de inmigración y racismo, innumerables víctimas de desastres naturales y grandes números de personas que son —en palabras del Papa Francisco— “desechadas”. Pareciera que hay poco espacio para la esperanza y el optimismo.
Sin embargo, sabemos por nuestra propia experiencia como creyentes y nuestros lazos comunes de fe, que esta no es la historia completa de la realidad. Hay, de hecho, otras noticias, las buenas noticias de nuestra fe de Pascua. Cristo ha conquistado toda muerte y todo mal. ¡Cristo ha resucitado!
Cuando profesamos nuestra fe en el Señor resucitado no negamos el dolor y sufrimiento que ocurre en nuestro mundo. El Cristo resucitado mismo lleva las heridas de su sufrimiento, pero ha resucitado. Ha conquistado el pecado y la muerte, y nuestra victoria es cierta. Tenemos una gran esperanza en él, que nos lleva hacia adelante. Pero, no termina allí, porque como nos dice San Pablo, todo lo que celebramos estos días ha tenido lugar para que nosotros “ya no vivamos para nosotros mismos, sino para él que por nosotros murió y fue resucitado”.
En la Arquidiócesis de Chicago, nuestro compromiso con Renueva mi Iglesia significa que tomamos nuestra fe de Pascua en serio, al punto que se convierte en fuente de nueva energía para comunidades e individuos que comparten nuestra fe con el mundo y trae una esperanza que el mundo no puede quitar.
Que nuestra fe en el Señor Resucitado esté viva en nuestros corazones y que compartamos ese don amplia y generosamente con otros.

YAM Fellowship Kick-Off
Attention all young adults, St.
Aloysius is kicking off a new weekly event called YAM Fellowship! This is a weekly meeting for all young adults where we reflect on bible readings, ask deep questions, discuss how our faith intersects with news and recent events, and talk about other topics that help bring us closer to Christ. YAM Fellowship begins Sunday, April 8
thfrom 7-8pm in the Vestibule of the Thiele Center, and occurs each following Sunday evening. All adults between the ages of 18-35 are welcome to attend.
LANZAMIENTO DE COMPAÑERISMO DE YAM
Saludos, el grupo de jóvenes adultos de nuestra parroquia San Luis Gonzaga comenzará llevando acabo eventos semanales llamado “YAM Fellowship”. Los eventos consistirán en temas bíblicos y como los mismos, coinciden con noticias y sucesos recientes. Al igual se hablarán sobre temas que nos ayudarán a aumentar nuestra fe en Cristo.
Dichos eventos empezarán el domingo, 8 de abril de
7-8pm en el Vestíbulo del Centro Thiele y cada
domingo siguiente. Todos los jóvenes adultos entre
las edades de 18 a 35 años están cordialmente
invitados.

The Prayer Shawl Ministry meets every Wednesday in the Thiele Center from 10am to noon. This group knits and crochets prayer shawls while praying individually and as a group for the recipient of each shawl. These shawls represent a visible symbol of our prayers and presence.
Shawls have been given to those facing challenging times, illness or to celebrate a special moment to bring the comfort and warmth of God’s love and healing.

El Ministerio Mantas de Oración se reúne todos los miércoles en el Centro Pastoral de 10am a medio día. Este grupo hace mantas de oración hechos de tejido o de ganchillo mientras rezan individualmente y como grupo para que el receptor de cada manta. Estas mantas representan un símbolo visible de nuestras oraciones y presencia. Las mantas se han dado a aquellos que enfrentan tiempos difíciles, enfermedad o para celebrar un momento especial para llevar el apoyo y la calidez del amor de Dios y la sanación.
