Dear Families,I want to start by saying I truly hope you have a restful, fun, enriching, and celebratory break. I cannot believe that the break is three weeks long! We will miss seeing your children each day. They bring such warmth to our lives and such sincerity. I hope you all enjoy the time to be with family and do fun things in LA. Also, please be sure to work on that homework and spread it out across those three weeks. Know that we have designed our homework to include the things that are of vital importance (reading for example!).
I am utterly excited for us to celebrate this Friday at our concert with a theme of “Music and Dance Around the World!”. What a perfect way to close out our
2016 school year and celebrate the fact that we now have students in grades kindergarten through fourth grade! Written with love,

NO Afternoon Valet TOMORROW
Reminder, we will not be having valet (dismissal) tomorrow, December 16th due to our school hosting our annual Winter Concert. Please plan accordingly and make arrangements to find parking and pick up your students in their respective classrooms. Thank you for your understanding!
Winter Break Homework Packets
Please make sure your child has received his/her winter break homework packet. It is crucial that during break Innovators are reading and practicing what they’ve learned in school. Though this is a time for Innovators to relax and spend time with their loved ones, it is also a time for students to continue practicing their math and reading skills. In doing so, your child will feel confident returning back to school in January. Homework will be uploaded to our website in case you need to make additional copies.
KIPP Iluminar Academy is Enrolling for the 17-18 School Year
Please spread the word to family and friends looking to enroll Kindergartners for next school year! We have the following dates/times set for new family information sessions in January located at 4800 E. Cesar E. Chavez Ave, (KIPP Iluminar Academy)

● Thursday, January 24 at 5:00pm
Enrolling Siblings for 17-18
If you are a current KIPP Iluminar Academy family and you would like to enroll a sibling for next school year, you must come to the office to fill out an interest form no later than February 10th at 4:30pm. Please do not wait until the last minute, as you could lose your sibling priority in the lottery if you do not fill out an interest form on time.

NO TENDREMOS Valet MAÑANA
Recordatorio, no vamos a tener servicio de valet mañana durante la salida, 16 de diciembre debido a nuestro concierto anual de invierno. Por favor planifique como corresponde y haga arreglos para encontrar
estacionamiento y recoger a sus estudiantes en los respectivos salones. ¡Gracias por su comprensión!
Paquetes de tarea para las vacaciones de invierno
Por favor, asegúrese que su hijo (a) haya recibido su paquete de preparación para el invierno. Es importante que durante el descanso los innovadores estén leyendo y practicando lo que han aprendido en la escuela. Aunque este es un tiempo para que los innovadores se relajan y pasan tiempo con sus seres queridos, también es un tiempo para que los estudiantes continúen practicando sus habilidades de matemáticas y lectura. Al hacerlo, sus hijos se sentirán seguros al regresar a la escuela en enero. La tarea estara en nuestra pagina web en caso de que necesite hacer copias adicionales.
