The PRESENT PROGRESSIVE/GERUNDIO describes an action that is in progress, continuing action or something going on now.

The PRESENT PROGRESSIVE/GERUNDIO is formed by combining the verb "to be" with the present

participle. (The present participle is the "-ing" form of a verb.)

The PRESENT PROGRESSIVE/GERUNDIO is never used to indicate a future action.

To form the Present Progressive/Gerundio of the regular verb ending in -ar, you will drop the

infinitive ending and you will add -ando to the stem of the verb.

Formula: (cantar – drop the ar + ando) = CANTANDO (visitar – drop the ar + ando) = VISITANDO

(estudiar – drop the ar + ando) = ESTUDIANDO
