POLICY FOR SACRAMENT PREPARATION

(FIRST HOLY COMMUNION, FIRST RECONCILIATION and CONFIRMATION) “God is the giver of all life, human and divine. May He bless the parents of this child. They will be the first teachers of their child in the ways of faith. May they be also the best of teachers, bearing witness to the faith by what they say and do, in Christ Jesus our Lord.” [from the Rite of Baptism, as prayed during your child’s Baptism.]

Our Goal is to provide your children with the best religious formation that we can give them, and to support you, their Parents and Guardians, in providing for their religious education in our Catholic Faith.

STUDENTS ARE EXPECTED TO:

1. Attend Mass every Sunday and get the Mass Attendance sheet signed each week at Mass.

2. Children in the First Holy Communion program may not miss more than three classes, other than for circumstances beyond your control, or a conference with one or both of the parents will be necessary to determine if the child will be allowed to continue with the program to receive their First Holy Communion.

3. Children in the First Holy Communion program are expected to receive this Sacrament together with their class and not at some later or earlier date to accommodate a request for a special family or personal occasion.

4. Children in the Confirmation program may not miss more than three classes, other than for

circumstances beyond your control, or a conference with one or more of the parents will be necessary to determine if the child will be allowed to continue with the program to receive Confirmation. 5. Confirmation students are required to attend a parish Confirmation retreat or alternative retreat

approved by the Confirmation Director.

6. Do a minimum amount of study in the home which might require some assistance from a parent.

CATHOLIC PARENTS ARE EXPECTED TO:

1. Attend Mass with your child(ren) every Sunday.

2. Insure your child(ren) attend our Religious Education classes and special events. 3. Pick your children up after class on time.

4. Reinforce the lessons learned in Religious Education classes. 5. Assist the Religious Education teachers whenever possible. 6. Attend parent meetings held periodically during the program. 7. Provide Baptism Certificates at the time of Registration. 8. Help your children grow in their faith and knowledge.

Parent’s Agreement: I have read the foregoing policy and agree to support my child(ren) in participating in the Religious Education Program by fulfilling the student and parent policy requirements.

POLÍCA DE LA PREPARACION DE LOS SACRAMENTO

(PRIMERA COMUNION, PRIMERA RECONCILIACIÓN Y LA CONFIRMACIÓN) "Dios es el dador de toda vida, humana y divina. Que Él bendiga a los padres de este niño. Ellos serán los primeros maestros de sus hijos en los caminos de la fe. Que ellos sean también los mejores maestros, dando

testimonio de la fe por lo que dicen y hacen, en Cristo Jesús Señor nuestro" [Del Rito del Bautismo, como se

rezó en el bautismo de su hijo].

Nuestro objetivo es dar a sus hijos la mejor formación religiosa que podamos ofrecer, y apoyarlos a ustedes, padres y tutores, a fin de proveer su educación religiosa en nuestra Fe Católica.

Expectativas de los estudiantes:

1. Asistir a Misa todos los domingos y obtener la hoja de asistencia firmada cada semana de la Misa. 2. Los niños en el programa de Primera Communion no pueden perder más de tres clases, a no ser por

circunstancias de causas mayores. De darse el caso, será necesario una conferencia con uno o ambos padres’ para determinar si su hijo/a se le permitirá continuar en la clase para hacer su Primera Comunión.

3. Los niños en el programa de Primera Comunión deberán recibir este sacramento junto con su clase y no en una fecha anterior o posterior para satisfacer un pedido de la familia o una ocasión especial personal.

4. Los niños en el programa de la Confirmación no puede faltar más de tres clases, que no sea por circunstancias fuera de su control, o una conferencia con uno o más de los padres, será necesario determinar si su hijo/a se le permitirá continuar con la clase para recibir la Confirmación.

5. Confirmación de que los estudiantes asistan a un retiro de Confirmación de la parroquia o retiro alternativo aprobado por el Director de Confirmación.

6. Estudiar en casa, lo cual podría necesitar algún tipo de ayuda por parte de los padres de familia. Expectativas de los padres de familia:

1. Asistir a Misa con sus hijos cada domingo.

2. Asegurarse de que sus hijos asistan a nuestra educación religiosa semanal y a los eventos especiales. 3. Recoger a sus hijos a tiempo después de cada clase.

4. Reforzar las lecciones estudiadas en la clase de Educación Religiosa.

5. Ayudar a los maestros y maestros de educación religiosa cuando sea posible. 6. Asistir a las reuniónes de padres de familia periódicamente durante el programa. 7. Proporcionar Certificados de Bautismo en el momento del registro.

8. Ayudar a los niños y niñas a crecer en su fe y en su conocimiento.
