ST. THOMAS AQUINAS REGIONAL SCHOOL

St. Thomas Aquinas Regional School, a National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence, will be hosting an Open House on Tuesday, November 18 at 10:00 a.m.. Aquinas is a PK4 through Eighth Grade regional Catholic school. The school is administered and staffed by the Dominican Sisters of St. Cecilia. Daily faith formation and the instill-ing of virtues through our Virtues in Practice Program are the focus of our mission. Aquinas was named a Top 100 Virginia School by Johns Hopkins University and we have a unique Sci-ence, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) partnership with the Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth. HELP IMMIGRANTS LEARN ENGLISH IN OUR PARISH !

Catholic Charities - Hogar Immigrant Services offers English Classes Tuesdays and Thursdays in the evenings. Registration for classes is January 20 or 22 from 7 pm to 8:30 pm. Many class levels are available. The cost is $60.00 for the semester and includes the textbook. For more information call Hogar Im-migrant Services at 571-208-1572.

Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Arlington- Hogar Immigrant Services, Education Services is currently seeking volunteers ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) teachers for its Winter 2015 semester at Our Lady of Angels. We offer six levels of instruction and classes are held Tuesdays and Thurs-days from 7-9 pm. You only teach once per week as a part of a teaching team. Training and materials are provided. No previous experience or second language required! If interested, please

The 2014-2015 Parent Sessions are today! at 3:30 PM to 5:00

PM or 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM in the Parish Hall. The last session this month is Tuesday, November 18, from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM also in the Parish Hall. You are to attend one of the three

ses-sions if your child is preparing to receive a Sacrament in the Spring or Fall of 2015.

Teacher/Aide Trainings: Tuesday, November 18, from 6:45

PM to 7:30 PM in the St. Sophia Room. All teachers and aides within the religious education program are highly encouraged to attend!

Our office hours: Monday and Tuesday from 12:00pm to

7:00pm; and, Wednesday and Thursday from 9:30am to 3:30pm. Our office is closed on Fridays.

the high school teens of the parish gather for a night of free food, friends, and all the craziness that we’ve come to know and love! This week, come joins us for a free dinner and a game night! Bring a friend and your favorite board game and we’ll see you there.

Tuesday, Nov 16 (5-6pm): TNT DROP-IN: All 6th-8th graders

are invited to join us for the first TNT of the year! Come play games, eat, and just have a good time! You decide what we do, so bring a friend and we’ll see you there!

ADVENT DAY OF PRAYER

Saturday, December 13, 2014 – come to San Damiano to help

make this Advent a fruitful time of preparation for Our Lord’s coming at Christmas. The retreat will be led by Fr. Sam Vac-carella, T.O.R., our Director. Registration begins at 9 am and the day concludes after Mass - about 3 pm. The cost for the day is $30, which includes lunch.

CHRISTMAS BAZAAR

Good Shepherd Catholic Church is hosting a Christmas Bazaar on Saturday, November 15, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. indoors at 8710 Mt. Vernon Highway, Alexandria, ½ mile from Mt. Vernon Estates. Admission and parking are free.

JP 5K RACE FOR OPTIONS

The 4th annual JP5K will be conducted on Saturday,

Novem-ber 22, 2014 at 8:00 AM at Saint John Paul the Great Catholic

High School. The certified 5K course begins and ends at our beautiful school, traveling through the neighboring community. Race proceeds will benefit the innovative and inclusive Special Education Options Program.
