Voy a tener un servicio de oración especial para padres quienes han perdido a un hijo debido al malparto (aborto involuntario), muerte fetal, aborto y/u otra muerte. Este servicio de oración es para los padres que están luchando con la pérdida y es para ayudar a que tengan consuelo y solaz. El servicio de Oración de la Santa Inocencia será el domingo, 11 de enero del 2015 a las 6 pm en la Iglesia Principal, seguido con una pequeña recepción en el salón parroquial. Si usted, o alguien quien conozca están luchando con la pérdida de un hijo, por favor acompáñeme en este servicio de oración de sanación.

I will be hosting a special prayer service for parents who’ve lost a child by a miscarriage, stillbirth, abortion and/or other death. This prayer service is for parents who are struggling through the lost and is to help bring comfort and solace to them. The Prayer Service of Holy Innocence will be on Sunday evening of January 11, 2015 at 6:00 p.m.
in the main church followed by a small reception in the parish hall. If you or someone you may know is struggling the loss of a child please, join me in this prayer service of healing.

How to Become EIM Compliant: New Applicant We are all Called to Protect.
REQUIRED steps to complete the EIM process for all new applicants:
1. Submit (one time only) an EIM Application for Ministry prior to volunteering; or for new employees, within the first week of employment (a condition of continued employment). Submitting the EIM application (available online and in a paper version) permits the Diocese of Austin to run a background check and also creates an account for EIM administrators to record your workshop history. All sections of the application must be completed in order to submit it; incomplete ap- plications are deleted out of the database periodically.

2. Attend a three-hour EIM Basic Workshop (within 60 days of application submission) that teaches participants about boundaries, warning signs, appropriate interactions with minors and vulnerable adults, how to respond to incidents and reviews diocesan EIM policies. [Note: New Applicants who have verification of previous workshop attendance in a different diocese may submit that verification to the EIM Office for review. This previous training may be able to serve as appli- cant’s “Basic”; they then need to attend a Refresher workshop to review diocesan policies and procedures and sign the Code of Ethics form.

3. You should check your own EIM account periodically to view the status of your application and verify that your workshop date has been recorded, or contact your parish/school office for as- sistance. You will not be contacted by the EIM Office unless there is an issue with your application or background check.
How to report an incident of concern
The Diocese of Austin is committed to preventing harm from happening to any of our children or vulnerable adults. If you are aware of sexual or physical abuse and/or neglect of a child or vulnerable adult, state law requires you to report that information to local law enforcement or the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services at (800) 252-5400 or www.dfps.state.tx.us.
Additionally, if the suspected abuse is by clergy or an employee or volunteer of any diocesan parish, school or agency, a Notice of Concern should be submitted to the diocesan Ethics and Integrity in Ministry Office at (512) 949-2400. The Notice of Concern can be found at www.austindiocese.org (click on the link HOW TO REPORT ABUSE). Reports may be made anonymously.

As of September 1, anyone needing an EIM workshop will sign up on- line through their EIM account. Go to https://www.eappsdb.com/Login.
asp?ORGZ_KEY=4 to log in to your EIM account in order to find the schedule of EIM workshops and to sign up; you will log in using the alternate log in, the sign up process is explained once you access your EIM account. Clerical Endowment Fund (C. E. F.) Prayer Cards: Cards are available in the Parish Office for a donation of $2.00 or $5.00.
Perpetual Certificates are also available. These enrollments make excellent gifts for many occasions. Proceeds from these donations are used to educate Seminarians for the Diocese. The Fund is also used to make low interest loans to parishes for their building pro- grams. This has been a project of the Austin Diocesan Council of Catholic Women since 1948.

Infertility & Miscarriage Support: Sarah’s Hope & Abraham’s Prom- ise is a spiritual support program for couples struggling with infertility and miscarriage. Based on Catholic teaching, we combine the wisdom of modern medicine with the healing power of the Catholic Church. We offer a women’s Bible study support group, couples healing retreats and prayer services throughout the year.
Adoption Support: Destined: Families Built by Love is a spiritual support program and monthly playgroup for adoptive families. Anyone who has built their family through the miracle of adoption is invited to meet with other families to share the joys and challenges of adoption and fostering. The playgroup meets once a month in different areas of Austin.
