God's Mercy continues to manifest itself through the

appearances of Jesus. First to Mary Magdalene and then to the other disciples. The first sign of this merciful love of God is present in the peace that Jesus offers to his disciples. "Peace be with

you!" (John 20:21). That peace that he offers us today. The Peace of Christ that overcomes fears of complications at work or in the family. That also conquers the fear of material and spiritual poverty. The fear that we had or that we have of approaching God in the Eucharist due to the pandemic, that fear that we all have of the contagion of the virus due to the lack of care of many around us. Let us ask the Lord, on this Mercy Sunday, reflecting from the bottom of the heart. Lord, may your Resurrection free us from fear, may we be sure that You are always with us. The Holy Pope Saint John Paul II said the

following about God's mercy: “God, merciful Father, who has revealed your love in your Son Jesus Christ and has poured it out on us in the Holy Spirit, Comforter, we entrust to you today the destiny of world and of every man ”. It is now convenient that we turn our gaze to this mystery: it is being

suggested by multiple

experiences of the Church and of contemporary man; It is also required by the invocations of so many human hearts, with their sufferings and hopes, their anguish and expectation. "What do you think of Divine Mercy? Are you devoted to it?

La Misericordia de Dios sigue manifestándose por medio de las apariciones de Jesús. Primero a María Magdalena y luego a los otros discípulos. El primer signo de este amor misericordioso de Dios se hace presente en la paz que Jesús ofrece a sus discípulos. “¡La paz este con ustedes!” (Juan 20:21). misericordioso, que has revelado tu amor en tu Hijo Jesucristo y lo has derramado sobre nosotros en el Espíritu Santo, Consolador, te encomendamos hoy el destino del mundo y de todo hombre”. Es conveniente ahora que volvamos la mirada a este misterio: lo están sugiriendo múltiples experiencias de la Iglesia y del hombre

contemporáneo; lo exigen también las invocaciones de tantos corazones humanos, con sus sufrimientos y esperanzas, sus angustias y expectación". ¿Qué piensas tú de la Divina

DIVINE MERCY SUNDAY

Domingo de la Divina Misericordia

Please join us today, Divine Mercy Sunday, April 11th as we celebrate the Lord’s tremendous mercy. In honor of Christ’s abundant love, we will celebrate a Eucharistic Holy Hour from 3-4pm. The Holy Hour will include a meditation and the Divine Mercy Chaplet, and confessions will be heard throughout the hour. Please pray with us as we recognize our need for God’s mercy, and His desire to bestow that mercy upon us!

SERIES: A LASTING PROMISE

This six-week series for married couples, meeting on Mondays, will offer solutions to common problems―facing conflicts, problem solving, improving communica-tion, and dealing with core issues―within a Catholic Christian framework. The ses-sions combine what God has revealed to us about marriage, plus the latest re-search on relationships, and clear exam-ples from the lives of other married cou-ples. The event begins April 12th.

UNBOUND MINISTRY TEAM FORMATION UNBOUND ministry will be offering a time for ministry formation on April 15th. This event is free and open to all who are inter-ested, including those who have minis-tered before at UNBOUND events, those who want to learn how, and those who simply want to learn more about how they can share UNBOUND with their friends and family. The evening will go from 7pm - 9pm. Please register so that we know how many to expect.

FORMATION OF THE HEART RETREAT Coming on April 16th to the 18th, For-mation of the Heart is a way of deepening your relationship with God. During this retreat, you will learn tools to help you feel how God is working in your heart. These tools enable you to understand your own wounds and disorders, and how the ene-my works on you. There will be lessons, discussions, opportunities for Sacraments of Mass and Confession, and time to be prayed with individually. Check out the event online for more details and to regis-ter.

Baptism

Must be parishioners of the Cathedral and be registered at least 1 month before baptism.

They must present a copy of the child's birth certificate so that all names are spelled correctly on the baptismal certificate.

Godparents:

They must be married by the Catholic Church and they must present their marriage certificate (a photo is acceptable).

They have to be confirmed and they must present their certificate of confirmation (a photo is acceptable). If they are not parishioners of the Cathedral, they must present a letter of permission from their parish priest where they attend Mass.

Single sponsors:

They must be over 16 years old.

They must present a copy of their confirmation certificate. Parents who are not parishioners:

If you want your child to be baptized in the Cathedral, parents must present a letter of permission from their parish priest where they are registered, and all the documents mentioned above. (For example, when the godparents are parishioners and the parents come to the Cathedral from another parish to baptize.)

All must present a certificate or letter verifying that they took the baptism class.

Baptism Classes in English: 1st Wednesday of the month at

7:00 p.m. in the Marian Room; located on second floor of the parish office. Registration is required.

Baptisms:

Monthly on 2nd Saturdays at 6:15 p.m. and monthly on 2nd Sundays at 11:15 a.m.

Please call the parish receptionist to register for Baptism class and/or arrange the baptism date at 263-6574. Thank you

Marriage

Congratulations on your future wedding! Please visit our website to request a wedding date

(WichitaCathedral.com), or call the parish office at least 9 months prior to the desired date. Our Receptionist, Francesca Santana, will receive your request and contact you to schedule your date. She will then put you in contact with Fr. Keiter, Fr. Jacob, or Fr. J.D. for marriage

preparation. May God bless you both!

Quinceañeras

Requirements: Young women must be baptized, have received First Communion, and have been confirmed or are currently in Confirmation Class. All Young women must also take a Quinceañera class, which begins the second Tuesday of February/September .

Bautismo

Deben ser parroquianos de la Catedral, y estar registrados por lo menos 1 mes antes del bautismo.
