Homework Practices: (including frequency)

Homework is given daily. If classwork is not finished in class, it is always homework. Assignments range from the practice workbooks, the textbook, vocabulary, responses, questions, projects, or essays.

Late work: You are responsible for making up missed work due to excused absences. You will have the number of days allowed per Conduct Code. NO OTHER LATE WORK WILL BE ACCEPTED

Attendance:

Attendance is essential in order for success when learning a new language. If you miss class, it is your responsibility to get the materials/assignments you missed and complete them on your own time.

Tardiness:

You are expected to be in your seat when the tardy bell rings. As per the student conduct code, three tardies will result in a note home; four or more tardies will result in a referral and detention either during lunch or after school. After 5 tardies, you will receive a “U” in citizenship for the quarter.

Citizenship Grade:

Outstanding Citizenship: No more than one tardy, no discipline referrals, positive contribution to class activities, excellent conduct and attitude in class.

Satisfactory Citizenship: No more than four tardies, no discipline referrals, most assignments completed and turned in on time, positive contribution to class activities, good conduct and attitude in class. Unsatisfactory Citizenship: Five or more tardies, discipline referrals, many incomplete or missing

assignments, few positive contributions to class activities, or poor conduct and attitude in class. A referral is NOT necessary to receive an unsatisfactory citizenship grade.

School materials:

You need to come prepared with your school materials every day. This includes, but is not limited to, a pen or pencil, paper, notebook, your textbook and workbooks. Textbooks and workbooks will be used every day. If you do not bring your materials to class 5 days or more, you will receive a “U” in citizenship for the quarter.

Classroom rules:

1. Be on time. Use class time to complete the assigned work. 2. Be prepared and be in your seat when the class bell rings. 3. Participate and ask questions.

4. Be respectful of others. Put downs, bad language, rudeness and destructive behavior will not be tolerated.

5. No cell phones.

6. No gum, food, or drinks. (Except for water)

*Breaking these rules may result in warning, detention or referral.
