ALGUNAS
CONSIDERACIONES.
(determinantes / adjetivos determinativos / pronombres)
PRONOMBRES PERSONALES

regido por cualquier preposición)

PRONOMBRES

This --- These That --- Those
This is my friend Jim / What’s that? / These are my nieces.
PRONOMBRES POSESIVOS
• Recordar adjetivos posesivos o
determinantes posesivos ( delante del
nombre):
my / your / his / her / its /
our / their
• Pronombres posesivos:
mine / yours / his / hers / its / ours /
theirs
This dog is his / Is that his book? No,

Do you want more tea? Yes, give me more / Jim is very thin because he eats a little /

nobody / nothing / no-one
everybody / everything / everyone They’re looking for somebody important / Put something on your head
Can you see anybody? / I don’t need anyone to help me They saw nothing / I know no-one
PRONOMBRES RELATIVOS Y
He is the doctor (who) I saw on TV.
I watched the documentary (which) you recommended.
Summer is the season (that) he likes the most.
• Whose (cuyo/a, cuyos/as) nunca hace de sujeto, así que no se puede omitir ni sustituir por that.
This is a book whose author is unknown.
I’ll never forget the year (when) there were many fires in the city. I visited the area where the earthquake occurred.
LAS ORACIONES DE RELATIVO
• Son oraciones subordinadas introducidas
por un pronombre o un adverbio relativo.
• Pueden ser de dos tipos:
defining
(especificativas) y
ORACIONES DE RELATIVO
ESPECIFICATIVAS.
• ESPECIFICATIVAS (defining): aportan
She is the girl (who / that) I want to meet.
I didn’t get the e-mail (which / that) you sent. I won’t forget the day (when / that) I met
ORACIONES DE RELATIVO
EXPLICATIVAS.
Nunca llevan el pronombre relativo that. Nunca se puede omitir el relativo.
Jack, who is English, works for a French firm.
London, where Kim was born, is a great city.
Hurricanes, which are common in the Caribbean, can kill many people.
