Howdy,
Festival!! Next weekend is our parish Unity Festival. Unfortunately, I will again miss it since I will be in Mexico with Nuestros Pequeños Hermanos for their quinceañera celebration, and to see the damage done by the earthquake. You know I will miss you all...and especially the food!
Our festival is very important for our parish com- munity. Yes, the money helps, but more important is seeing our family come together. It is always so good to see former parishioners and students.
A special thanks to all who have been working for months to plan and thanks to those who work during the weekend.

¡El Festival! El próximo fin de semana tendremos nuestro Festival de la Unidad de la parroquia. Des- afortunadamente, no estaré aquí ya que estaré en México con Nuestros Pequeños Hermanos para su celebración de las quinceañeras, y para ver el daño causado por el terremoto. Ustedes saben que los extrañaré a todos ... ¡y especialmente la comida!
Nuestro festival es muy importante para nuestra comunidad parroquial. Sí, el dinero ayuda, pero más importante es ver a nuestra familia reunirse.
Siempre es tan bueno ver a antiguos parroquianos y estudiantes.

El Santo Matrimonio Católico
La primera prioridad de un matrimonio católico saludable, feliz y sagrado es vivir el amor para Dios. “Busca primero el reino de Dios, y todo lo demás te será da- do" (Mt 6:33). Cuando un novio y la novia entran en una iglesia católica para casarse, vienen como personas separadas, independientes y enamoradas, pero cuando salen como marido y mujer, están unidos por el amor divino de Cristo. Son para siempre un trío formado por Cristo, esposo y esposa, unidos en el amor.
En Caná, la novia y el novio sirvieron su vino de menor calidad que no duró. Pero debido a la presencia de Cristo, el agua se convirtió en vino exquisito y abun- dante. La presencia de Jesús en un matrimonio sacra- mental convierte el simple amor de un esposo y esposa en un amor abundante, exquisito y duradero. Cristo está presente en tu matrimonio sacramental siempre renovan- do, sanando y ofreciendo Su amor perfecto para ti.
Comparte esto con tu cónyuge. ¿Olvidas a veces que Cristo está presente en tu matrimonio? Pídele a tu cón- yuge que comience a orar contigo. Si ya rezan antes de comer y en la noche antes de acostarse, vean cómo pueden acercarse a la oración en común. Asistir a misa durante la semana, rezar el rosario o la Coronilla de la Divina Misericordia o asistir a la Adoración Eucarística son todas opciones para una pareja casada que desea una relación más cercana con Jesús.
Holy Catholic Marriage
The first priority of a healthy, happy holy Catholic marriage is to live our love for God. “Seek first the kingdom of God and all else will be given to you” (Mt.
6:33). When a bride and groom walk into a Catholic Church to be married they come as separate, independent peo- ple in love but when walk down the aisle as husband and wife they are bound together by Christ’s divine love. They are forever a threesome consisting of Christ, husband and wife, bound together in love.
At Cana, the bride and groom served their simple wine which did not last. But due to Christ’s presence, the water became abundant, exquisite wine. Jesus’
presence in a sacramental marriage turns the simple love of a husband and wife into abundant, exquisite and lasting love.
Christ is present in your sacramental marriage always renewing, healing and offering His perfect love to you.
Share this with your spouse. Do you sometimes forget that Christ is present in your marriage? Ask your spouse to begin to pray with you. If you already pray before meals and at night before bed, then discuss how you can grow closer in prayer together. Attending an extra mass a week, saying the rosary or Chaplet of Divine Mercy or Eucharist Adoration are all options for a married couple desiring a closer relationship with Jesus.

Un día, cuando mis hijos eran pequeños, me senté al piano y comencé a tocar y cantar una canción de oración. "Te entrego todas mis preocupaciones...”
Antes de que pudiera terminar la canción, mi hijo menor me interrumpió con una solicitud de ayuda.
Me sonrojo de vergüenza cuando recuerdo mi res- puesta exasperada. "¿No puedes dejarme unos pocos minutos sin pedir algo?". Pronto me di cuenta de que si realmente le hubiera entregado mis preocupaciones a Dios, habría atesorado la oportunidad de ayudar a mi hijo en lugar de contarlo como un obstáculo para
"mi" tiempo
con
Dios. Cuando amamos a Dios en nuestras familias aprovechando tanto los momentos tranquilos como las interrupciones de la vida,podemos decir con el salmista: "Guarda mi alma en la paz, junto a ti, SEÑOR".

[email protected] One day, when my children were small, I sat down to the piano and began to play and sing a prayer song, “I cast all my cares upon you . . .” Before I could finish the song, my youngest son interrupted me with a request for help. I blush with shame when I remember my exasperated response. “Can’t you let me have just a few minutes without asking for something?” I soon realized if I had truly been casting my cares on God, I would have treasured the opportunity to help my child instead of counting him an obstacle to “my” time with God. When we love God in our families by embracing both the qui- et moments and life’s interruptions, we can say with the psalmist, “In You, LORD, I have found my peace.”
