Elena Morales Torres

Director of the Rector's Office

Elena Morales Torres holds an undergraduate degree in Translation and Interpreting from the University of Granada.

Professional experience:

Morales Torres joined the administrative assistant team at the University of Granada with a post in the Certification Division of the General Affairs Service (SAG) (1983).

In 1984 she was transferred to the Vice-Rectorates for Research and Outreach.

In 1988 she moved to the Vice-Rectorate for Teaching Organization.

In 1989 she was appointed sub-section administrative manager (jefa de negociado) of the Erasmus Programme.

In 1991 she passed the competitive examination for admission to the Technical Scale for Management Staff of the University of Granada. She took part in the public competition organised by the University, obtaining the post of Head of the Curriculum Section.

She was appointed Director of the International Relations Office, a position she held until 1996.

In 1996 she was appointed Director for the Socrates and Student Mobility Programme.

In 1998 she took part in a public competition organised by the University, obtaining the position of Delegated Administrator of the Faculty of

Political Sciences and Sociology (Head of Service). She combined her academic and administrative posts until October 2000, when she ended her term as Director.

In 2002 she passed the competitive examination for admission to the Technical Scale for Management Staff of the University of Granada.

In 2007, she was appointed Director of the Rector's Office during Francisco González Lodeiro's term.

In 2015, she was appointed Director of the Rector's Office during Pilar Aranda Ramírez's term.

Additional information:

1991-1992: She participated in university fairs in Paris and Brussels in collaboration with the Regional Government of Andalusia. Morales Torres has also participated in the numerous international student fairs

organised by the Regional Ministry of Education and Sport (CED) of Andalusia from 1992 to the present.

1993: She completed a one-month stay at the University of Westminster (London) to undertake an English language course.

1996: She became a member of the Coimbra Group of Universities' task force on New European Mobility Programmes.

1999-2007: She became a member of the following faculty board committees: Standing Committee of the Governing Team, Academic Committee and Financial Committee. She is also a member of the internal assessment committees for the Bachelor's Degree in Political Science and Public Administration and the Bachelor's Degree in Sociology.

2006-2007: Head of the Functional Unit for Faculties and Schools.

2012-2014: Member of the technical board of the Institutional Functional Unit.
